Dr. David Silbersweig has moved from his<br />
position as co-director of the Neuro-Imaging<br />
Labor<strong>at</strong>oryof the Division of Neuropsychi<strong>at</strong>ry<br />
<strong>at</strong> Weill Cornell Medical College to Harvard<br />
Medical School where he has been appointed<br />
Chairman, Department of Psychi<strong>at</strong>ry,<br />
Chairman, Institute for the Neurosciences,<br />
Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Stanley<br />
Cobb Professor of Psychi<strong>at</strong>ry, Professor of<br />
Neurology. Dr. Silbersweig works closely<br />
with his wife, Dr. Emily Stern, Co-Director<br />
of Functional and Molecular Neuroimaging,<br />
Department of Radiology, Brigham and<br />
Women’s Hospital, and Associ<strong>at</strong>e Professor<br />
of Radiology, Harvard Medical School. The<br />
doctors are the parents of Arielle, 12, and<br />
Joshua, 8. They are living in Chestnut Hill,<br />
MA. William Winokur’s film “The Perfect<br />
Game” will soon be in the<strong>at</strong>ers. Winokur<br />
based his screenplay on his book of the same<br />
title—which rel<strong>at</strong>es the true story of a team of<br />
barefooted boys from Monterrey, Mexico who,<br />
in 1957, defied extraordinary odds to become<br />
the first foreign team to win the Little League<br />
World Series. The film tells the story of how<br />
their miracle changed not only their lives, but<br />
an entire city’s destiny.<br />
1979<br />
On September 11, 2007, the sixth-anniversary<br />
of the terrorist <strong>at</strong>tacks, Evan Rosen gave<br />
a speech to the United St<strong>at</strong>es intelligence<br />
community. The speech was sponsored and<br />
hosted by the Office of the Director of N<strong>at</strong>ional<br />
Intelligence. ODNI used Evan’s book, The<br />
Culture of Collabor<strong>at</strong>ion: Maximizing Time,<br />
Talent and Tools to Cre<strong>at</strong>e Value in the Global<br />
Economy, in developing both the 100-day and<br />
500-day plans for integr<strong>at</strong>ion and collabor<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
of the intelligence community, comprised<br />
of 16 federal agencies. Also, The Culture of<br />
Collabor<strong>at</strong>ion received a gold medal in the<br />
2008 Axiom Business Book Awards co-sponsored<br />
by Inc. Magazine. Evan received the<br />
award <strong>at</strong> a reception in midtown Manh<strong>at</strong>tan<br />
on March 10, 2008. Philip Huang received<br />
his MBA from Wharton. He currently focuses<br />
on business str<strong>at</strong>egy in life sciences and<br />
biotech/pharma.<br />
1981<br />
Bryan Barnett left JP Morgan Chase after<br />
nearly 18 years to pursue a career as a financial<br />
advisor <strong>at</strong> AXA. He helps individuals and<br />
small businesses with financial, retirement,<br />
and est<strong>at</strong>e planning insurance. James Bloom<br />
is now head of the Secondary Division <strong>at</strong> the<br />
Cairo English School, Cairo, Egypt.<br />
1982<br />
Dr. Stephen Fabry, recently had a book<br />
published by Jones and Bartlett titled, 100<br />
Questions and Answers about Hep<strong>at</strong>itis C.<br />

1987<br />
Dan Hoffman and Julie Oppenheimer are<br />
proud to introduce Audrey Gigi Hoffman, born<br />
December 3, 2007.<br />
Jennifer Garfein Ashton signed a book<br />
deal with Penguin for a book she wrote for<br />
teenage girls about their physical development<br />
and gynecologic issues. The book is due out<br />
in the fall of 2009.<br />
1988<br />
Jordan Thomas is the founder of “Brooklyn<br />
for Barack”, a grassroots movement th<strong>at</strong> has<br />
rallied support for Democr<strong>at</strong>ic presidential candid<strong>at</strong>e<br />
Sen. Barack Obama. Voter registr<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
is one of the major efforts of the organiz<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />
Jordan was intensely involved with this activity<br />
throughout the summer. Jordan is a filmmaker<br />
living in Fort Green, Brooklyn.<br />
1989<br />
Michael Rakower and wife, Sali, are pleased<br />
