Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner
Rajasthan Agricultural University was established with its headquarters
at Bikaner on August 1, 1987. After carving out of Maharana
Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur in
1999, the Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner has more than 75
per cent service area representing 21 districts of arid and semi arid
agro-climatic zones of the state.
The RAU has objectives of :
✩ Imparting education in agriculture and allied branches of study.
✩ Undertaking research work in agriculture and allied sciences.
✩ Undertaking mass educational programmes especially for rural
people of Rajasthan.
✩ Undertaking such other work, activity or project as the University
may deem proper in order to achieve objectives for which it has
been established.
In order to fulfill these objectives, the University has multifaceted
activities in Teaching, Research and Extension education. It also catalyzes
close interaction among students, scientists and extension workers
for the benefit of farming community. The University has several
institutions spread over 21 districts of the state under its jurisdiction.
