12 Title: Nonviolent Crisis Prevention/Intervention NON-Certification Program Presenter: Kimberly Thorn and Tim Savage Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Date: Monday June 14, <strong>2010</strong> Location: Elgin West Community Centre - 11099 Bathurst Street, Richmond Hill Only light refreshments will be provided. Please be sure to bring your own lunch or be prepared to purchase something close by. Workshop Description: Since 1980, over 5 million human service providers worldwide have been trained through the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program to provide for the care, welfare, safety and security of everyone involved in a crisis situation. The workshop will provide an introduction to crisis prevention that emphasizes early intervention and non physical methods for preventing or managing disruptive behaviour. As well, an introduction to the study and practice of personal safety techniques will occur followed by a review of methods to re-establish rapport after a crisis has occurred. This is open to PARENTS and FAMILY MEM- BERS only. NO CERTIFICATION is provided.
