EARTHCHECK TRAINING
EarthCheck is trusted by more than 1300
travel and tourism organisations across the
globe. These companies are market leaders
in their respective fields and they recognise
EarthCheck’s expertise in managing Cost,
Risk and Compliance.
We call this our CRC Approach and it helps
businesses develop robust strategies and
practices that mitigate the effects of climate
change and enable them to operate in a
more sustainable manner.
Sustainability requires change across all
levels of an organisation; from the very top
all the way through to volunteers. Gaining
buy-in and implementing a cultural shift
across an organisation’s staff, suppliers and
clients requires a deep understanding of the
most effective ways to embed sustainability
practices and policies.
Without meaningful action being taken, an
organisation is likely to find themselves
underperforming against their peers,
suffering margin pressure from cost
increases for natural resources (such as
energy), vulnerable to legal, environmental
and financial risk, and unwittingly foregoing
valuable international business due to a lack
of internationally recognised standards.
The EarthCheck Training Academy brings
together the cumulative knowledge of
leading universities, practitioners in the field
and more than a decade of verified
operational results.
REAL WORLD KNOWLEDGE
The EarthCheck Training Academy offers 19
programs; each tailored to meet the real
world needs of travel and tourism
organisations.
Offering professional development
workshops that result in tangible business
outcomes and certificates of completion for
the attendee, each course uses a range of
resources to impart knowledge and skills.
Delivered via webinars or on-site training
sessions, participation can be either one-onone
or in group format. Resources provided
include workbooks, case studies, fact sheets
and access to the industry’s largest hub of
expert industry research; the Sustainable
Tourism Online portal.
Post-course support services are available
as an optional extra; ensuring staff have
ongoing access to industry experts and
trainers.
AVAILABILITY
The EarthCheck Training Academy offers a
suite of programs that range in duration
from as short as a half day for the
Fundamentals of Sustainability and Risk, to
16 weeks for sustainable business for
industry clusters.
Customised workshops are available on
request, to meet the unique location,
market and operational needs of each
client.
PROVEN SUCCESS
“With sustainability being more widely
adopted by business, this training course
was relevant to what is needed for a
systematic approach to sustainable business
operation. Whether well advanced or just
starting out on the road to developing an
environmental management plan the course
guides you through the necessary steps
required for an organisation to include
sustainability as part of their core business
activities. We found the content extremely
helpful in consolidating our sustainability
activities and formalising our environmental
action plans.”
