PRESENTATION

TO BE ORDAINED DEACON
“This bulletin will contain not just the substance of the official acts of the Provincial
Government which are published in the circulars but also other information that would be
of interest to our confreres—and to the members of the Pauline Family who otherwise
are not reached by the circulars.”
DURING THE 4th SSP Provincial Chapter for Programming
in Cebu, one of the desires expressed by the Capitulars was
a constant flow of information on the life and apostolate of
the Province. Members far from Makati, the “nerve center”
of the Province, especially feel this need which is not fully
met by the circulars coming from the office of the Provincial
Secretary. This desire was translated into a Chapter guideline
which reads: “The PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE
(PIO) shall be more functional and effective” (n 4.2.4).
It is to implement this guideline that the Provincial
Government is reviving the SSP information bulletin Shalom!.
This bulletin will contain not just the substance of the official
acts of the Provincial Government which are published in the
circulars but also other information that would be of interest
to our confreres—and to the members of the Pauline Family
who otherwise are not reached by the circulars.
In recent years, however, the bulletin did not come out
regularly. This time we are encouraged by the fact that Fr. Gil
Alinsangan has agreed to the wish of the Capitulars to take
charge of the bulletin as he had done with shalom during his
term as provincial surperior. Being a provincial councilor and
assistant provincial secretary, Fr. Gil is privy to the life of the
Province and therefore a communicator to others.
With the revived shalom, we hope to reach out to one
another and come closer as brothers and sisters.
Shalom! Peace to one and all! May the Lord bless our
new undertaking.

Cl. Boogie Tacdoro
With the official communication dated
September 25, the General Government
informed the provincial superior that it
has approved the application of Ludovico
“Boogie” Tacdoro Jr. for the ordination to
the diaconate.
The ordination will take place at
the Sanctuary of St. Paul in Makati City
on November 17, Sunday, at four in the
afternoon. Most Rev. Socrates Villegas,
auxiliary bishop of Manila, will be the
ordaining prelate.
The candidate was born in Igbaras,
Iloilo, on October 15, 1972. He finished
theology at the Loyola School of Theology in
2001 and made his perpetual profession on
August 20, 2001. Currently he is in charge of
ST PAULS Electronic Media.

Fourth Provincial Government
formed
FR. BOY CASTOR
back from Studies
WITH THE APPOINTMENT of Fr. Celso
Godilano as provincial superior on July
26 and the election of four councilors by
the 4th Provincial Chapter on September
11, a new provincial government was
set up to guide the SSP Province from
2002-2006.
The councilors elected in order were
Fr. Gil Alinsangan, Fr. Joseph Javillo, Fr.
Dominador Guzman and Fr. Ruben Areno.
On September 27, the provincial superior, with the
consent of the provincial council, appointed Fr. Joseph Javillo
as the provincial vicar.
Earlier, on September 13, the provincial superior, in
consultation with his council, appointed Fr. Domie Guzman
as the provincial secretary and Fr. Gil Alinsangan as assistant
provincial secretary. Fr. Leopoldo Botavara III was chosen as
the provincial bursar.
The following is a short curriculum vitae of the members
of the government:
FR. CELSO GODILANO, 46 years, comes from Calinog,
Iloilo. Following his theological studies at San Carlos Seminary,
he was ordained priest in 1983. He studied Pedagogy, Major
in Religious Formation, at the Salesianum in Rome. He then
became the rector of St. Paul Seminary in Silang. He is serving
his second term as provincial superior.
FR. JOSEPH (“BABES’) JAVILLO, 44, is from Sigma,
Capiz. He finished theology at San Carlos Seminary and was
ordained priest in 1984. He was councilor and vicar in the
previous regional and provincial governments, and editor
of The Youngster. He was the bursar in the last provincial
government.
FR. DOMIE GUZMAN, 40, is from Paco, Manila. He
studied at the Loyola School of Theology and was ordained
in 1988. He had been involved in the creative sector of the
apostolate. He was both councilor and provincial secretary

For two years, Fr.
Apolinar “Boy” Castor,
Jr. stayed with the SSP
community of Staten
Island while taking up
classes at the Fordham
Fr. A. Castor University in New York
City. He obtained the degree of Master of
Arts “With High Honors” at Fordham’s
Graduate School of Religious Education.
On October 1, Fr. Boy came back
and is now reintegrated with the Makati
community. He works in the Creative sector
of the apostolate and will be part of the
teaching faculty of St. Paul Seminary in Silang,
Cavite.
FR. ANDRES INTING

Fr. A. Inting
For a while, Fr. Andres
“Andet” Inting was
assigned with the SSP
Montreal community
in Canada. After
consultations with Fr.
Celso Godilano, he has
decided to come back to the Philippines
for good. He will be based with the Makati
community and will reinforce the newly
formed ST PAULS Marketing sector where
he will work with advertising and promotion.
Prior to his stint in Canada, Fr. Andet was
part of the Cagayan de Oro community.
