In the Autumn term of 2011 and the Spring term of 2012
NSCAP is very pleased to once again play host to the famous
Institute of Psychoanalysis “Annual Introductory Lectures” in
Leeds. This two-part series of lectures, followed by discussion
in small groups, provides an overall view of the core concepts
in psychoanalysis and their main applications.
Most of the lectures will be given as live presentations with the
others shown as DVDs of the live London lecture. Although
they are “introductory” in the sense of not requiring prior
academic or clinical experiences of psychoanalysis, both junior
and more experienced and senior colleagues from a variety of
work settings have found them stimulating.
There will be two facilitators leading the discussion seminar
that will follow each lecture: Gearóid Fitzgerald and Susie
Godsil, who are both members of the British Psychoanalytical
Society. The lectures and seminars will take place on a
Wednesday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. The Autumn
term will run from 5th October till 7th December 2011. The
Spring term will run from 11th January till 14th March 2012.
There will be an upper limit of 25 places and priority will be
given to those who seek to attend both terms.
Cost, Contacts & Venue
The cost per term is £250 or £450 for both terms. It will
take place at Northern School of Child & Adolescent
Psychotherapy.
