Median Price Units Sold Property tax. This revenue source, the General Fund’s 2 nd largest, is projected to decline through 2010/11. As documented previously, property tax receipts are projected to finish 2010/11 down $1.2 million from 3 years ago. Fortunately, it looks like the pace of the decline is slowing. For the current 2009/10 Fiscal Year, receipts are down 12.3%. However, the latest projections from the Santa Cruz County Assessor indicates that 2010/11 total receipts may face only a 3.5% overall decline. The current housing market appears to be approaching a bottom as the rapid decline in home values has slowed such that, through the first quarter of 2010, values look to have stabilized.
