1995 Prevent Blindness America, Distinguished Achievement Award. Given for leadership in developing a
public statement on Ultraviolet hazards for the eyes, and then orchestrating both the American
Optometric Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology to adopt the same statement.
1995 Garland W. Clay Research Award, American Academy of Optometry. Given in honor of the best

2002 William Feinbloom Award, American Academy of Optometry. Annual award presented to an individual
