COUNCIL UPDATE
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS
The November Council meetings will be
held on the 6th and 20th of the month at
7:00 PM at Village Hall. The meetings
will air on Channel 77 at 7:00 PM on
the following Thursday, Saturday and
Thursday.
RECENT COUNCIL ACTION
• Made appointments to the various
Boards and Committees (see
separate story)
• Appointed Councilman Steve
Loffredo as the Village representative
on the PACE Green
Corridor Board of Directors.
• Authorized waiving the bid procedure
and awarding computer
software and hardware equipment
purchases for the Village Hall and
the Police Department to Advantage
Networking. A portion
of the purchase contract will be
funded through the Police Forfeiture
Fund.
• Adopted a Resolution regarding
the BYRNE/JAG grant for
the purpose of creating a records
improvement program in the Police
Department.
The Miami Shores Village Council
made the following appointments during
the October 2nd Council Meeting:
John D’Alessandro, Marty Mennes, and Michael
Schultz were appointed to the Country
Club Advisory Board. Appointed to the
Recreation Advisory Board were Christia
Alou White, Kendra Borja, Ken Whittaker
Jr., Amy Wiborg and Bill Wolk. Appointed
to the Historic Preservation Board
were Alain Gonzalez and David Hunter.
In addition, Marty Mennes was appointed
to a one year term (to serve the remainder
of Victor Bruce’s term) for the Historic
Preservation Board. Rosemarie Banich,
Maria Echeverri and Michael Stock were
appointed to the Fine Arts Commission
and Victor Bruce and Sid Reese were appointed
to the Planning & Zoning Board.
Robert Vickers and John Patnik were appointed
to three year terms and Barry Perl
and Bob Smith were appointed to one year
terms on the Code Enforcement Board .
