COUNCIL UPDATE<br />
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS<br />
The November Council meetings will be<br />
held on the 6th and 20th of the month at<br />
7:00 PM at <strong>Village</strong> Hall. The meetings<br />
will air on Channel 77 at 7:00 PM on<br />
the following Thursday, Saturday and<br />
Thursday.<br />
RECENT COUNCIL ACTION<br />
• Made appointments to the various<br />
Boards and Committees (see<br />
separate story)<br />
• Appointed Councilman Steve<br />
Loffredo as the <strong>Village</strong> representative<br />
on the PACE Green<br />
Corridor Board of Directors.<br />
• Authorized waiving the bid procedure<br />
and awarding computer<br />
software and hardware equipment<br />
purchases for the <strong>Village</strong> Hall and<br />
the Police Department to Advantage<br />
Networking. A portion<br />
of the purchase contract will be<br />
funded through the Police Forfeiture<br />
Fund.<br />
• Adopted a Resolution regarding<br />
the BYRNE/JAG grant for<br />
the purpose of creating a records<br />
improvement program in the Police<br />
Department.<br />
The <strong>Miami</strong> <strong>Shores</strong> <strong>Village</strong> Council<br />
made the following appointments during<br />
the October 2nd Council Meeting:<br />
John D’Alessandro, Marty Mennes, and Michael<br />
Schultz were appointed to the Country<br />
Club Advisory Board. Appointed to the<br />
Recreation Advisory Board were Christia<br />
Alou White, Kendra Borja, Ken Whittaker<br />
Jr., Amy Wiborg and Bill Wolk. Appointed<br />
to the Historic Preservation Board<br />
were Alain Gonzalez and David Hunter.<br />
In addition, Marty Mennes was appointed<br />
to a one year term (to serve the remainder<br />
of Victor Bruce’s term) for the Historic<br />
Preservation Board. Rosemarie Banich,<br />
Maria Echeverri and Michael Stock were<br />
appointed to the Fine Arts Commission<br />
and Victor Bruce and Sid Reese were appointed<br />
to the Planning & Zoning Board.<br />
Robert Vickers and John Patnik were appointed<br />
to three year terms and Barry Perl<br />
and Bob Smith were appointed to one year<br />
terms on the Code Enforcement Board .<br />
