The Volunteer conducted a voluntary action <strong>of</strong> the approximately 2.45 acre-Property,<br />

letter for the Property was submitted on September 21, 2012 to the Voluntary Action<br />
Program <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Ohio</strong> EPA Division <strong>of</strong> Environmental Response and Revitalization by<br />

Public notice is hereby given that the <strong>Ohio</strong> Environmental Protection Agency (<strong>Ohio</strong><br />
EPA) Division <strong>of</strong> Surface Water (DSW) has issued a draft general Permit to Install (PTI)<br />
permit for new gravity sanitary sewer extensions in the <strong>State</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ohio</strong>.<br />
The issuance <strong>of</strong> this draft general PTI permit addresses the renewal <strong>of</strong> the General<br />
Permit to Install Gravity Sanitary Sewer Extension <strong>Ohio</strong> EPA Permit No. 3745-42-<br />
SS001 which expired on March 1, 2012.<br />
Applicants under this permit include communities and private entities that propose to<br />
install gravity sewers that connect to existing sewage treatment works which are<br />
covered by a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. This<br />
permit covers sanitary sewer extensions with pipe diameters <strong>of</strong> 8 inches to 12 inches,<br />
unless the project is not eligible for coverage as defined in the permit. Interested parties<br />
that will be contacted include major municipalities, county engineers, statewide<br />
environmental groups, business and trade associations, consultants, OEPA divisions<br />
and district <strong>of</strong>fices, and other known interested parties.<br />
The gravity sanitary sewer extension general permit is intended to cover new sanitary<br />
sewer extensions installations. This general permit is not proposed to be available to<br />
existing sanitary sewer extensions, or suggested upgrades or changes to existing<br />
sanitary sewer extensions.<br />
