ammonia - NH3+; a cation (a positively charged ion) that conta<strong>in</strong>s one nitrogen atom<br />

bacteria – s<strong>in</strong>gle-cell organisms hav<strong>in</strong>g round, rod-like or spiral shaped bodies. They<br />

cast<strong>in</strong>gs – fecal material (dropp<strong>in</strong>gs) excreted by earthworms at the soil surface; conta<strong>in</strong><br />
material for microbial activity<br />
clay – very f<strong>in</strong>e soil particles; plastic when moist; sticky when wet; hard when dry; used<br />
for brick, tile, etc. Also applies to any Soil material that conta<strong>in</strong>s 40% or more clay,<br />
