STEPHEN P. HOULE<br />

Stephen P. Houle retired Building Commissioner for the Town of Ludlow passed away unexpectedly on<br />
October 19, <strong>2008</strong>. He served the Town for eight years with diligent enforcement of building and zoning<br />
codes and his knowledge of the State Laws, Building Regulations and Town Bylaws were unmatched.<br />
Mr. Houle was born in Southington Connecticut worked in the building trade’s field and was an<br />
educator teaching building construction courses.<br />
He served his country as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force ending his distinguished<br />
career as a recruiter after twenty years of service and was also a certified glider pilot.<br />
He was a communicant of Christ the King Church, a member of its men’s guild and was also a member<br />
of the Polish American Citizens Club, the Swift Rivers Sportsmen’s Club the B.O.W.M., and the Dalton<br />
American Legion.<br />
Steve will be sadly missed by his wife Kathleen, his daughters Pamela and Laura (John) and his<br />
precious grandchildren Paige and Heather whom he loved unconditionally.<br />
Mr. Houle was a fascinating fun loving individual with many hobbies and interests. He loved to trap<br />
shoot, fish, enjoyed boating, walking the trails at the Ludlow Reservoir with his loving wife Kathy by his<br />
side and proudly showing his antique cars especially in the Memorial Day Parade. He was the king of<br />
gadgets and could dance the night away. He always had a smile on his face and a place in his heart for<br />
anyone who needed a helping hand. With his slapstick comedy, his tap dancing antics, and his zest for<br />
life, Stephen Houle will always be remembered as a charismatic individual. May he rest in peace.
