We strongly advice the students to refer these books whenever possible. Management Science The Department of Mathematics coordinates the subject of Management science, which is offered by a limited number of students in the faculty of Applied Sciences. The coordinator of this course is Mr. G. J. K. Silva. Objectives The main objective of this program is to equip science students with Management knowledge, skills and attitudes, enabling them to become competitive and innovative professionals in the real job environment. We try to enhance students abilities by improving their adaptability to diversified situations environment through teaching them necessary management concepts, principles and techniques related to the functions of management in planning, organizing, controlling, decision-making and problem solving. This program consists of carefully integrated subjects in the key areas of Management, Accounting, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Economics, Operational Research, Finance, Business Law etc. Teaching methodologies Of this program include: i) Lectures and tutorials ii) Internship in the private sector iii)Class presentations, team work and group discussions in management process, Marketing and MIS and Accounting Information systems for managers iv) Management based practical research projects v) Case studies and field trips vi) Seminars and workshops 45
