EVERYBODY NEEDS SOMEBODY SOMETIMES!<br />
Have you ever watched a sporting event and wondered how those<br />
athletes perform so well? Although most athletes are inherently<br />
talented and physically gifted, there is usually a team of experts<br />
helping that individual perform at peak levels. Take for example an<br />
NFL quarterback. Not only does he have a head coach to direct and<br />
coordinate his movements, he has a coach that reviews his throwing,<br />
a strength and conditioning coach and a nutritionist. <strong>The</strong>se athletes<br />
have trained at a high level for years and know what they should do,<br />
yet still have individuals to help them be their best.<br />
<strong>The</strong> simple fact is, everyone needs help with certain things.<br />
Someone who wants to get better at golf or tennis would get lessons<br />
from a pro. A person who wants to learn to sky dive or scuba dive<br />
takes lessons, yet when it comes to exercise, many people believe<br />
they don’t need help. <strong>The</strong>y think they can do everything on their<br />
own. Even though people are disciplined enough to continuously<br />
exercise, they may not have the knowledge to make the most of their<br />
efforts. <strong>The</strong>re are experts in every area of fitness who have insights<br />
and knowledge that you can benefit from.<br />
Besides motivation, adherence and encouragement, instructors give<br />
direction. <strong>The</strong>y are able to take you from your starting point to your<br />
goal by using gradual progression. If progression is the key to<br />
attaining your goals, trainers are the key holders. Developing a plan<br />
can be as easy as meeting once a month or every other month, so<br />
long as you are adhering to the plan.<br />
<strong>The</strong> bottom line is, train smart, have a plan and stick to the plan.<br />
Our personal trainers are here to help you develop that plan and<br />
assist you in being the best you can be.<br />

FITNESS CHALLENGE ‘09<br />
HAVE YOU REACHED YOUR POTENTIAL?<br />
<strong>The</strong> FITNESS CHALLENGE is an eight-week competition specifically<br />
geared toward RESULTS! Participants will be judged on pre and post<br />
assessments by a panel of three judges and top three finalists will<br />
win prizes.<br />
<strong>The</strong> rules are simple:<br />
• Participate in pre and post measurements<br />
• Commit to working with a GATC Personal Trainer at least once<br />
per week in a private or semi-private session for eight weeks.<br />
Entry fee of $85 includes:<br />
• Pre and post measurements<br />
• Logoed zippered jacket<br />
COMPETITION DATES: January 26 - March 21 (MUST register by<br />
January 18)<br />
PRE-TESTING: January 19-24, 6:00am-2:00pm and 4:00-7:00pm<br />
POST-TESTING: March 23-28, 6:00am-2:00pm and 4:00-7:00pm<br />
