PE HEALTH CONSULTATION <strong>20<strong>12</strong></strong>:<br />

The opportunity to provide your feedback about the programmes in place at Waikanae<br />

School will close next week. Further information about our programmes can be found on<br />

our school website under the Health and PE Consultation tab. Paper copies of this<br />

document can also be obtained from the office.<br />

ROAD PATROL PARENT SUPERVISOR NEEDED:<br />

We require a parent volunteer on Wednesday afternoons 2.50 – 3.15pm to<br />

supervise the Road Patrol Wardens. Do you have a spare half hour? This is a vital (if low<br />

key) role for the safety of our students at peak traffic flows. Also if you would be willing<br />

to be a reserve, please phone the office on 9026544.<br />

BANDANNAS FOR CANTEEN:<br />

From 14 to 30 September we will be selling the bandanna‟s to fundraise money<br />

to support kids with cancer. We will be selling them outside Rooms <strong>12</strong> & <strong>13</strong>. They are<br />

$4 each. Please show your support to this great cause and get a bandanna from us.<br />

FIREWOOD FUNDRAISER:<br />

$350 per cord - Old Man Pine, Macrocarpa, Gum. Supplied and Delivered by Andy<br />

Murray of Andy’s Firewood<br />

For every cord purchased the school will receive $50. Support the school and stay warm<br />

at the same time! All funds raised will go towards our playground upgrades, this being<br />

either safety matting or artificial turf. The firewood is guaranteed to be of a high quality<br />

and will be ready to burn in the winter of 20<strong>13</strong>. (It is not suitable for burning in <strong>20<strong>12</strong></strong>.)<br />

The payment of $350 is to be made to Andy upon delivery of the wood. This is strictly a<br />

MEADOW FRESH COOL STUFF FOR KIDS<br />

PROMOTION:<br />

Thank you to all those parents and children who<br />

have returned completed sticker sheets. Please continue collecting stickers from specially<br />

marked Meadow Fresh milk and yoghurt packs so that our school can win a share of the<br />

cool art and sports prizes on offer. The promotion will run from 16 July – 14 October.<br />

Collection sheets are available from the school office or just collect and drop the stickers<br />

off at school.<br />

RAUMATI TECHNOLOGY CENTRE has joined the brand new Let‟s Cook with<br />

Parmco programme, hosted by Brett McGregor, to help get our kids into the kitchen to<br />

learn a few new skills and try some fun recipes. Plus, there‟s over $150,000 of prizes to<br />

be won! The programme is underway and runs until 25 September. It includes weekly<br />

cooking challenges with video tutorials and recipes, weekly prizes for participating<br />

students, and a page on the Let‟s Cook site to celebrate our students‟ cooking successes.<br />
