A Narrative Corpse
number one
A Narrative Corpse is an ongoing project that began in 2011. It brings together
the comic strip format of sequential narrative and the Surrealist game of
“exquisite corpse.” The project began with a three panel comic strip. The final
panel was passed along for the next artist to continue. The chain story
continues with each artist taking the narrative on their own tangent and panel
format.
The final panel of the eleventh comic strip was used to begin A Narrative
Corpse exhibition in The Cube at the Kamloops Art Gallery. The parameters
were the same, but the strips were drawn directly to gallery walls and each artist
was given only one day to complete their work. The result is a multi-perspective
narrative collected in this zine.
