997 INTRODUCTION AT PORSCHE OF STRATHAM<br />

Just another beautiful autumn day in NH.<br />
Actually, it was a little cool and damp<br />
but that did not deter the enthusiasm of<br />
NCR members and some non-members<br />
who arrived at Porsche of Stratham to<br />
see, and sample, the new Porsche. The<br />
weather was offset by hospitality and<br />
good German food served with strong<br />
coffee.<br />
The new Porsche: how does it feel? This<br />
particular editor went off with a PDK<br />
version and found it a bit different to his<br />
1984 Carrera. Just for a starter the view<br />
over the hood is quite different and the<br />
acceleration is awesome. Not needing to<br />
shift or find the clutch is at first confusing<br />
but soon becomes natural. Paddle shifters<br />
are a treat and soon become natural.<br />
Although one NCR member noted: “one<br />
must change hand positions because<br />
an unscheduled downshift can (did)<br />
happen.”<br />

The sound system is awesome. I agreed<br />
with Judy on that point right away. We<br />
soon discovered I was referring to the<br />
music and Judy was referring to the<br />
17 <strong><strong>North</strong>lander</strong>
