Annual Novice Meet
The Devon Crest Swim Team is pleased to again sponsor an annual swimming invitational for
novice swimmers on July 11, 2007. This meet has proven rewarding to those girls and boys
who practice and compete only in the summer months; we request your help in ensuring that all
eligible swimmers are given the opportunity to participate.
MEET GUIDELINES:
Novice Swimmers: Only those swimmers who were not members of any organized swim
team, high school swim team or aquatics club between 8/15/06 and 6/1/07 are eligible. This
meet is for summer swimmers only; it is their chance to excel.
PLEASE NOTE: Even if they did not compete in a meet or invitational, swimmers who practice
with a club or team during the non-summer season are ineligible for the Novice Meet.
Fees:
$ 3.00 per individual event
$12.00 dollars per relay
Age Groups: 6 & under; 7 yr. olds; 8 yr. olds; 9 yr. olds; 10 yr. olds; 11 yr. olds; 12 yr. olds;
14 & under; 18 & under. (Age is as of 6/1/07.)
Events: 6 & under, 7-and 8-year old individual event strokes are 25 meters.
9-through-18 years stroke events are 50 meters.
Stroke events are Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly for all ages.
100 meter IM for 9 yr. olds and above.
Free relay for 8 & under (100 M) and 10 & under (200 M).
Medley relay (200 M) for 12 & under, 14 & under, and unlimited.
Note: Swimmers may enter NO MORE than 3 individual events plus one relay.
Relays will be scheduled first.
If there are a great number of entrants, or inclement weather causing a delay in the meet,
ALL RELAYS may be scratched and entry fees will be returned. In the event of a need to
reschedule the meet, the alternate date will be July 12, 2007.
Awards: Ribbons for every swimmer for every event. Team trophies for First, Second and
Third places.

Entry Guidelines:
Entries can be submitted using the Hy-Tek Meet Manager software. This can be found
at the Mid-Penn Swim League Site (www.swimmpsl.org). Entries can be emailed to
lukekellysean@comcast.net or submitted on a disk to the address below.
Entries must be received no later than June 29, 2007.

All coaches must submit their names and phone numbers or that of the team’s
designated contact for questions about swimmers’ names/events, problems with entry
fees or a notice of cancellation/delay.
We would also appreciate parent volunteers for timing and officiating. Persons helping
with the meet will be refunded the admission charge.
