<strong>SMC</strong><br />
<strong>SMC</strong> is a new compound specially<br />
developed for sink production.<br />
It is made from a mixture of Polyester,<br />
minerals and glass fibres creating a<br />
highly flexible material that can be<br />
moulded in to crisp detailed shapes<br />
The manufacturing process includes<br />
the application of a protective coating<br />
(PIMC) which provides the sink with a<br />
high resistance to damage<br />
<strong>SMC</strong> <strong>Specifications</strong><br />
Scratch resistant - Although these sinks<br />
are not scratch proof, they are highly<br />
resistant to scrapes from cutlery etc.<br />
Impact resistant - <strong>SMC</strong> is very resilient<br />
and will withstand the usual knocks and<br />
bangs from pots and pans.<br />

Heat resistant - <strong>SMC</strong> will withstand<br />
temperatures up to 140°C. It is not<br />
recommended however to put pots<br />
directly from the stove on to the sink<br />
surface.

The Chorus and Tempo are Carbonate sinks made<br />
out of an advanced form of Polypropylene specially<br />
formulated for the sink industry. Carbonate has been<br />
used for making sinks for the last ten years and has<br />
proved to be a reliable material for budget priced sinks.<br />
The Aria sinks are made from Quartz (formerly Asterite)<br />
which is a unique blend of natural silica particles and<br />
toughened acrylic resins creating an extremely durable<br />
material.<br />
