Music Scholarship Audition Form - High Point University

Please provide a narrative that describes your involvement in music, either in private
study or with a school, church or community ensemble. Include information about
recitals, competitions and a select repertoire list.

Suggestions for what to perform in your audition
Vocal Music:
Two short pieces or excerpts of contrasting styles or genres; one in foreign
language if possible; be ready to vocalize through your register
Instrumental Music:
Two selections of contrasting styles (slow/lyrical and fast/technical);
solos, excerpts, etudes, or All-State material; be prepared to sight read a
passage and to play selected scales
-If you wish to have your piece accompanied please send us the music at least two weeks
in advance of your audition. Otherwise you may bring an accompaniment track.
-Please be prepared for a brief informal discussion about your music experiences with the
music faculty after you have performed.
