TRIAX TDX-Pool technology:
Immerse yourself in tomorrow’s technology
In close collaboration with planners, installers and
operators, TRIAX has developed a new technology
that is orientated towards the needs of users. The
new TRIAX TDX-Pool technology free’s the system
of compulsory allocations for input and output
modules, resulting in freedom from restrictions
imposed by signal conversion. All incoming signals
initially enter the TDX-Pool. From this pool they
can be converted into any required output signals
and then simultaneously fed to several output
modules.

Exit / Output
All assignments between input to output signals
can be readily changed at any time. This makes
TDX uniquely flexible, efficient and economical.
Reliable reception without any noise
System planning is performed quickly and reliably
via the Internet using the TDX-Configurator. Simply
use the program to specify the desired inputs and
outputs and the Configurator does everything else.
Not only does it optimally select the components
for the system, it also programs the desired system
configuration as an XML file. At the same time it
calculates the maximum permissible bandwidth
for each channel, preventing overloading of the
output signal and ensuring a noise-free and clear
reception.
The signal quality, e.g. PAL with a Video S/N of
typically 58 dB or for QAM with a MER of typically
35 dB is excellent.
Easy to install. Easy to use.
The completed XML file from the Configurator can
be transferred to any laptop. Thus the complete
preplanning data used for designing the system,
can be quickly transferred to the TDX to perform
the installation. In close collaboration with installers,
TRIAX has optimised system handling: Installation
and commissioning is very easy, and operating the
system is very friendly for both users as well as
service staff.

What are Apprenticeships?
Apprenticeships are employer led programmes which
allow the apprentices, 16-19 or 19+, to work and
learn at the same time. As well as gaining ‘on the job’
knowledge and experience, apprentices study for
nationally recognised qualifications in the workplace
and attendance at college. Delivery programmes are
flexible to meet both the engineer and the employer.
The Partnership
Triax in partnership with Birmingham Metropolitan
College are pleased to support an aerial apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship programme is aimed at upskilling
the future workforce to support the digital revolution
in both Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and Satellite
broadcasting. The programme directly supports the
Electrical & Electronic Servicing Industry technical
installation, service and maintenance of digital signal
reception. This work related qualification provides the
opportunity to demonstrate your competence within
your work role. The training programme provides
appropriate training and assessment in the workplace
and is the benchmark to become an approved digital
ticked installer.
The Qualification:
Certificate in Digital Television Aerial Installation
-Vocational (City & Guilds 2218)
NVQ Level 2 in Electrical & Electronics Servicing
-Signal Reception
Functional skills; Maths, English & IT at level one
Delivery & Assessment Methods
This apprenticeship is delivered both within the
college and work environment.
Progression Opportunities
Apprentices can progress to an advanced
apprenticeship.

Triax Design New Range of HD STB’s for
Receiving Saorview
Digital Terrestrial Television
During October 2010, RTE began trials
of Ireland’s new free-to-air Digital
Terrestrial Television (DTT) service with
a planned launch of Spring 2011.
This is the beginning of Digital Switchover in
Ireland as analogue transmissions are phased
out by the end of 2012.
The new DTT service will provide:
• More TV channels and radio services
• Improved video and audio quality
• Enhanced teletext
• Migratory path to High Definition

CHAS Accreditation
We are delighted to announce we are now
accredited to the Contractors Health and
Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
Each month thousands of contractors and
consultants (suppliers) apply for work with public
and private sector organisations (buyers). To win
work, they must meet the buyer’s health and
safety standards.
Assessing suppliers health and safety
competence is usually a lengthy and time
consuming process. Suppliers can sometimes
meet one buyer’s Health and Safety standards
but not another. Being CHAS approved reduces
duplication as suppliers compliance is accepted
by all CHAS buyers.
CHAS assesses applicants:
1. Health and safety policy statement;
2. Their organisation for health and safety
3. Their specific health and safety
arrangements to a standard acceptable to
our buyers and to others.

(305315) This will ensure the lead is always
