MEDICAL NUTRITION USA SELECTS ALLEN & CARON
FOR INVESTOR RELATIONS
ENGLEWOOD, NJ (April 18, 2005) … Medical Nutrition USA Inc (OTCBB: MDNU), a
manufacturer of nutrition-medicine products, announced that it has selected Allen & Caron Inc
as its investor relations agency.
Medical Nutrition USA Inc (“MDNU”) develops and distributes products for nutritionally atrisk
individuals under medical supervision. Its products are used primarily in long-term care
facilities, hospitals, dialysis clinics and bariatric surgery clinics for patients with specific medical
conditions such as bed sores and malnutrition; for patients undergoing renal dialysis and
chemotherapy; and patients who have had bariatric surgery. The Company’s lead products
include Pro-Stat and the pbs Nutritional Support System.
Medical Nutrition Chairman and CEO Frank A. Newman commented, “We are at a flexion
point where demand for our products is increasing rapidly, and we have moved from a cash-burn
to a cash-positive state. We believe it is time to launch a proactive and professionally executed
investor relations program to increase the number of people in the investment community who
know about us. Following a review of such firms, we selected Allen & Caron because they
demonstrated an appropriate level of understanding of our prospects, and have a good record
working with smaller, growing healthcare companies.”
Allen & Caron Chairman and CEO Joe Allen said, “Medical Nutrition products are effective
against some of the most pernicious and widespread conditions afflicting patients in nursing
environments. Most people – investors or not – have had some experience, even at second-hand,
with long-term care. The high incidence of bed sores is a national disgrace, and should make
Pro-Stat a product in great demand. This year will be an important one for Medical Nutrition,
with a crossover to profitability and an increase in market share. We believe the investment
community will respond with interest and enthusiasm.”
