Static Electricity
Year 6 students have been studying static electricity
for their science lessons this week. They have done a
number of fascinating experiments such as charging
a plastic pen and using it to pick up paper, charging a
rubber balloon and making their hair stand on end,
and making balloons stick to walls. They also saw an
exciting demonstration of a van der Graaf generator
where they saw tin saucers fly through the air. The
experiment shown in the photo is of some students
bending water towards a charged balloon. We can
do some really cool things with static electricity.
Preparing students for a life of worth ...
Not merely a life of work.
