NOTIFICATION 

The Governor has been pleased to appoint the persons named below provisionally for 6 

(six) months as Dental Surgeons in the General Group of the West Bengal (Basic Grade) Dental 

service with effect from the date of their joining as such and to post them as noted against each 

with effect from the same date until further orders. 

2. The appointments of the candidates have been made on the recommendation of Public 

Service Commission, West Bengal and will continue provisionally for 6 (six) months or until 

further orders with effect from their respective date of joining, pending verification of their 

antecedents. Their services are liable to be terminated in case any adverse report is found about 

their antecedents. If any declaration given or information furnished by the candidate(s) are 

proved to be false subsequently or if appointee is found to have willfully suppressed any material 

information, he/sh.e will be liable to removal from service without assigning any reason thereof 

and/or any such further action may be taken as the Govt. may deem necessary under the 

provision of law. 

3. The appointments have also been made subject to their being declared fit for Govt. 

Service by Medical Board and pending medical examination, they are allowed to join their 

posting. The appointees are advised to appear before Medical Board as soon as instructions in 

this respect are issued by the concerned Principa1/CMOH/ Superintendent. If they fail to comply 

with the instructions issued by the Principals/CMOH's/Superintendents or if they are found to be 

medically unfit their services will be dispensed with. 

4. The appointee will draw pay in the scale of Rs. 8,000-275-13,500/-. Besides the grade 

pay they will draw other allowances and benefits as admissible under existing rules applicable to 

the members of the West Bengal Dental Services. 

5. As the appointments in the Health Centers have been made against the posts are nonpracticing, 

and as such the appointees are debarred from engaging themselves in private practice 

of any kind while holding the post for which they will draw non-practicing allowance as per 

orders issued by Govt. in this regard from time to time. 

6. The appointees shall be governed by the terms and conditions of service as per existing 

rules applicable to the members of the West Bengal Dental Services. The appointees shall also be 

required to perform all such duties as may be assigned to them from time to time besides the 

duties of the posts in which they are or may be appointed. 

7. The appointees are hereby directed to report for duty to the 

Principals/CMOHs/Superintendents concerned immediately within sixty days from the date of 

issue of this order failing which the offer of appointment to the West Bengal Dental Services 

shall stand automatically cancelled without further reference to them. No. T.A. for joining the

post will be allowed to the candidate. It may be noted that mere reporting to the office on the 

Principal/CMOH/Superintendent without assuming the charge as Dental surgeon in the post as 

noted against each, will not be treated as joining. 

8. Candidates are requested to submit a copy of the Registration Number of the West 

Bengal Dental Council to the Principal/Chief Medical Officer of Health/Superintendent 

concerned at the time of Joining. 

9. No application or request for extension of joining time will be entertained and no 

correspondence in that regard shall be made to the applicants. 

10. These appointments are made in relaxation of Rule -10 ofWBSR-II.

2. The Chief Medical Officer of Health/Superintendents are requested to arrange for 

verification of antecedents and also medical examination (as per existing orders of the Health 

Directorate) of the candidates concerned promotly after their joining. The verification report and 

the medical examination report shall be forwarded immediately to this Department by the 

CMOHs /Superintendents. 

3. i) The Principals/CMOHs/Superintendents are requested also to verify the original 

certificates of educational qualifications and registration as Dental surgeons in West Bengal 

before the candidates are allowed to join. They will retain copy of Registration Number of the 

West Bengal Dental Council to be submitted by the appointees at the time of joining and the 

number shall be incorporated in their respective Service Books when opened. Any discrepancy in 

these matters should be brought to the notice of this department at once. The 

CMOHs/Superintendents are requested not to allow any candidate to join Service who will fail to 

produce certificate of Registration as Dental Surgeon in West Bengal. 

3(ii) The Principals/CMOHs/Superintendents are also requested to verify the original 

certificates of the S.C./S. T ./B.C. in original in respect of the candidates from SI. No.63 to 93, 

issued in accordance with the provision of West Bengal S.C. and S.T. (reservation of vacancies 

in Services & Posts) Act. 1976 and West Bengal Commission for Backward Classes Act. 1993 

before the candidates are allowed to join. 

3(iii) The Principals/CMOHs/Superintendents are also requested to verify the original Higher 

Secondary Certificate of Dr. (Smt.) Zarina Aliya (SI. No.25) before the candidate is allowed to 

join this provisional appointment pending verification of Higher Secondary Certificate at your 

end. 

4. The candidates who are continuing Post-graduate studies should submit a certificate from 

appropriate authority to the effect that they have completed the tenure of course of studies. The 

Principals/CMOHs/Superintendents are requested to look into this matter personally before they 

are allowed to join. Failure to follow this provision will be dealt with severely. 

5. No candidate shall be allowed to join service beyond the stipulated date of joining i.e. 

within sixty days from the date of issue of this order. 

6. List of joining report should be sent to Deputy Secretary , Department of Health & Family 

Welfare and Assistant Director of Health Services (Dental), Directorate of Health Services by 

Special messenger within 7 (seven) days for the last date of joining.
