Benefits
Long Range:
NFER ® systems’ low frequencies propagate
better than the high frequencies used by
incumbent systems. Low frequencies diffract
around or penetrate through even large
obstacles that would block high frequency
signals. Typical ranges exceed 30m even in
complicated propagation environments.
High Accuracy:
Low frequencies are less prone to multipath,
yielding more robust and accurate positioning
in complicated indoor environments.
Low Cost:
Low frequency hardware is inherently simpler
and less expensive than comparable high
frequency hardware. The wireless enabled
QT TM -400 Locators require no expensive
cabling or installation. Finally, long range
means significantly less infrastructure.
“Startup Q-Track Corp. has homed in on an
oft-ignored phenomenon of RF transmissions
and leveraged it as the basis of what has
been demonstrated to be an accurate but
relatively simple tracking scheme.”
EE Times October 25, 2004
Performance At A Glance
Range: Frequency dependent, but up to 70m
(230ft) at 1.3MHz. Scalable to cover any
facility.
Accuracy: 1m (3ft) indoors with potential for
30cm (1ft )
Update Rate: Better than 10Hz.
Operating Frequencies: select frequencies
within the AM broadcast band, 510 – 1710kHz.
Bandwidth: less than 500Hz
Channelization: The QT TM -400 Locator can
track more than a dozen QT TM -400 Tags.
Potentially 1,000’s of tags may be tracked
simultaneously.
Regulatory: Authorized under FCC Part 15.
Transmitter Power: 100mW (maximum
allowed under FCC Part 15 regulations).
