Lincoln Park Community Shelter was the recipeint of the 2013 Unity Award
presented at the Sweet Home Chicago Event.

Lincoln Park Community Shelter
Dear Fr. Prendergast,
"I like the programs (at LPCS). I like that the staff and volunteers actually care. I
have bed, a safe base of operation, and a temporary family that looks out for one
another. One of the best decisions I made in my life was to come here!"- LPCS Guest
Thank you so much for your recent donation of $10,000. Your gift is
appreciated and will directly help guests of the Lincoln Park Community
Shelter achieve their goals to become self-sufficient once again. Whether
it is through bus passes to get to a job interview, access to a caring and
competent case manager, providing food and shelter during a time of crisis,
or helping to pay a security deposit on someone's new apartment, the LPCS
uses every donation received to directly improve the lives of men and women
experiencing homelessness.
During the time that a guest calls LPCS "home," we work to provide these
vital services while also fostering the intangible - yet equally important -
benefits that a true community can provide. Moral and emotional support,
social support, reciprocity and a sense of accountability to the group is part of
what makes the LPCS experience - for guests, volunteers, staff, and donors so
unique. Thank you for being a part of this community.
On behalf of the 35 guests who call the Lincoln Park Community Shelter
