Writing Exam
Testing begins on Tuesday, February 9th.
Please keep in mind that good
attendance is very important. We
expect to see everyone here on time as
testing begins first thing in the morning.
Valentine’s Day Grams
Valentine’s Day Grams will be sold
during homeroom Monday
February 1st thru Thursday
February 10th for $1.00. Grams
will be delivered Friday
February 12, 2010.
Haiti Relief Fundraiser
Snapper Creek is joining relief efforts
for Haiti and we ask for your support to
help us help the people of Haiti to
recover from this devastating
earthquake. Students are asked to
donate a dollar for events listed in our
monthly calendar in which they
participate. In addition to the student
events, we are also asking for donations
of the following items.
(first aid kits, sleeping bags, tents,
lanterns, mosquito repellent, screen,
batteries, water, crutches, wheelchairs,
baby products, hygiene products and
non-perishable foods)
We will have boxes available in the front
entrance to the school.

Do you want to see Ms.
Segredo and Teachers
serving food at McDonalds?
The principal, Ms. Segredo has challenged
Snappers to have ten days of 98%
attendance or better. The time period for
this challenge is from February 1st through
March 19th. In order to reach 98%, no more
than 11 students can be absent. As a
reward for meeting this challenge, Ms.
Segredo, and some of our teachers, will be
serving food to our students on the evening
of March 24th at the McDonald’s on the
corner of 97th avenue and Sunset Drive.

Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Soeder
1. When did you first decide to become a teacher?
As a child I always enjoyed playing school
with my younger cousins.
2. What do you enjoy most about teaching? I enjoy
interacting with my students each and
everyday. The thing I enjoy most is the
moment a student learns to do something
they couldn't do before. I am so proud of their
hard work.
3. What was your favorite subject as a child?
Science. I love animals and the outdoors so
learning about Earth was always fun!
4. Have you ever played sports? If so which ones? I
played sports through middle school. I
enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and
softball
5. What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving. I
enjoy preparing the turkey and having a feast
surrounded by the people I love. It is also a
reminder that Christmas is around the
corner.
Help Your Child Do Well on Tests
1. Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep
before every test.
2. Provide a light, healthy breakfast on test day.
3. Have your child dress comfortably and arrive
at school on time.
4. Send your child off to school with confidencebuilding
words of praise and support: You’ll do
great! Believe in yourself! I love you!
5. Suggest that your child breathe deeply to
relax before and during the test.
6. Remind your child to read directions carefully
and look at all the answers before choosing one.
7. Tell your child to check his or her answers
before turning in the test.
8. Do not schedule trips, dental or medical
appointments, or early pickups for testing day.
