The Level 3 certificate in recreation <strong>and</strong> sport provides you<br />

with key learning in <strong>Exercise</strong> <strong>Science</strong>. This includes resistance<br />

training, community recreation, basic computer applications,<br />

<strong>and</strong> outdoor adventure learning with a focus on developing<br />

academic skills to prepare you for further tertiary study in this<br />

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS<br />

To enter into this programme you will need a minimum <strong>of</strong> 16<br />

NCEA credits, which includes 8 credits in Level 1 literacy <strong>and</strong><br />

8 credits in Level 1 numeracy, or an equivalent academic<br />

qualification. If you are 20 years <strong>of</strong> age or older at the time<br />

you start your studies, you may apply to WelTec under special<br />

admission criteria. If English is your second language, a<br />

minimum IELTS score <strong>of</strong> 5.0 or equivalent is required.<br />

FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS<br />

After completing the Certificate in Sport <strong>and</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> (Level 3)<br />
