The Child Care Services Division assists parents with locating child care, and provides technical<br />
assistance for child care providers and those individuals choosing to become registered or licensed child<br />
care providers in their homes.<br />
Child Care Resource and <strong>Referral</strong><br />
The Child Resource and <strong>Referral</strong> Program<br />
assists parents with locating child care, and<br />
provides technical assistance for child care<br />
providers and those individuals choosing to<br />
become registered or licensed child care<br />
providers in their homes. Services include:<br />
• Technical Assistance<br />
• <strong>Referral</strong>s for parents seeking child care<br />
• Orientation sessions for individuals<br />
seeking child care registration<br />
• Start-up and maintenance grants for<br />
child care providers<br />
• Development and training<br />
Family and School-Age Child Care<br />
Registration<br />
The Child Care Registration Program provides<br />
assistance to child care providers in meeting the<br />
requirements for becoming registered with the<br />
NYS Office for Children and Family Services<br />
and complying with New York State Child Care<br />
regulations. Parents of children enrolled in child<br />
<strong>Referral</strong> <strong>Guide</strong><br />
care centers are also provided with information<br />
regarding the state child care regulations.<br />
Child Passenger Safety Program<br />
The Child Passenger Safety Program provides<br />
education to parents and care givers on the<br />
proper use of care seats. Community Care Seat<br />
Checks are conducted throughout Allegany<br />
County five times per year. A permanent fitting<br />
station is available the third Tuesday of every<br />
month by appointment at 15 Martin Street in<br />
Wellsville.<br />
Child and Adult Care Food Program<br />
(CACFP)<br />
CACFP is a meal reimbursement program that<br />
assists with the cost of nutritious meals provided<br />
to children in child care settings. Eligible<br />
participants include registered/licensed child<br />
care providers, individuals in the process of<br />
becoming registered/licensed child care<br />
providers, and child care providers who are<br />
receiving payment from the local Department of<br />
Social Services (CAP) for providing child care<br />
services.<br />
