accommodation guide.

We can offer a range of affordable accommodation
based on your needs. All our accommodation is
self-catering to encourage you to develop your selfconfidence
and independence, but if you can’t face
cooking there is always fresh food available on campus
at student prices. Living away from home for the first
time can be a daunting prospect, but in many cases
the people you meet in accommodation will become
friends for life. Welcome to your new home.

• Walsall and City En-suite accommodation also
has TVs in kitchen areas.
A prepayment of £300 payable against the final instalment
of the Licence Fee must be paid on acceptance of the
Licence.

City Campus
City Campus is based in the heart of
Wolverhampton, just yards from St Peter’s
Church, the oldest site in Wolverhampton,
and is now home to some of the city’s
most striking and modern architecture.
You have the greatest choice in the type
of accommodation on City Campus; with
economy, standard and en-suite rooms
available.
City Economy: Randall Lines
This is a five storey building comprising of 285 rooms.
Each corridor contains up to 12 bedrooms with
communal bathrooms and kitchen facilities. This is
a very social and interactive block, which is ideal for
meeting new friends and keeping your expenses to a
minimum.

Living in accommodation gave
me the chance to meet loads of
people I would have otherwise
never met. Even though I’m from
Wolverhampton, living in Uni
accommodation was essential for
me and my university experience.

If you’re looking forward to the independence of student
life but would prefer a smaller corridor and block, then
perhaps our standard accommodation may be what
you are looking for.
Here 310 standard rooms in nine blocks are split into
corridors where you’ll share a bathroom and toilet with
up to six other students. Pop the kettle on in the kitchen
and you’ll soon get to know your new flatmates.

City En-suite
Our en-suite accommodation is the largest and newest
on City Campus, offering 461 en-suite rooms in a total
of 13 blocks. Each corridor will share their kitchen
with up to six other students. The luxury of en-suite
bedrooms means you can spend as long as you like
getting ready for a night out (without infuriating your
flatmates) whilst also being able to impress them with
your culinary skills in the shared kitchen, which now
include comfy seating and TVs. And should you forget
that essential ingredient for your signature dish you can
pop out to the supermarket, 24 hours a day!

Gorway Halls
The 106 standard rooms of Gorway Halls are
separated into individual corridors for six students;
with communal bathrooms and kitchen facilities.
Student Village
The Student Village offers the newest
accommodation at the University, with en-suite
rooms for 338 students. You’ll be sharing your
kitchen and lounge space, which now include TVs,
with up to six students.

Burn some calories
The multi-million pound Sports Centre, an official
training base for the 2012 Olympics, has 12-court
multi-activity sports hall, a six-lane floodlit athletics
track, all-weather floodlit pitch, throws and jumps
area, dance studio and swimming pool. What’s
more, living in University accommodations means
you’ll get free membership.
Campus life
You’ll find everything you need on site at Walsall
Campus; offering food from across the globe,
a shop for all the essentials, and of course the
Learning Centre, open seven days-a-week with
expert help. The friendly atmosphere will have you
feeling at home in no time.

Walsall (Student Village)
If you want to explore further afield, Walsall town
centre is only a couple of miles away. You can
be tempted by the shopping or the growing
choice of bars, pubs, clubs, and restaurants. With
its reputation for having some of the country’s
friendliest people, you can unwind during the
evening in good places and in good company.
At Walsall Campus you can choose between
standard and en-suite accommodation.
You’ll rub shoulders with students in music,
dance, sport, education, health, leisure,
tourism and hospitality, so a lively and fun
mix is guaranteed.

The Campus includes a café on site, in addition to the
Learning Centre and computer suite, to help you make
the most of your studies.
Three blocks of quiet en-suite accommodation offer
100 residents somewhere to study and relax. Corridors
are for four to six students, so head out to the town
centre together to get to know each other!
Telford
Telford Campus
Telford Campus is set in the grounds of
the Grade II listed, 18th Century mansion,
Priorslee Hall. Three miles from Ironbridge,
the modern Campus is home to a large
number of international students, so you’re
likely to make friends with people from all
around the world. You’ll study alongside
students of engineering, built environment,
and business, as well as those studying
certain computing and social work courses.
Inter-site travel time between Telford and
Wolverhampton City Campus is approximately one
hour.
For those more athletically minded there’s a football
pitch, basketball and tennis court all handily located on
campus; or for something a little different, Telford offers
bowling, ice-skating and skiing at one of the UK’s only
dry ski-slopes.
Running every 45 minutes, the University’s free shuttle
bus service will take you into the town centre, where
you can indulge your shopaholic at the 150-store
shopping centre, or catch up on the latest blockbuster
at the cinema.

How to apply for
accommodation
Who can apply?
When a home or EU student has a CF (conditional
firm offer) they will be able to apply, be allocated
a room and accept the accommodation
licence agreement to reside within University
accommodation. This will enable students to secure
their accommodation prior to receiving examination
results; enabling the University to secure bookings
at a much earlier stage within the accommodation
process.
How can I apply?
You can apply for accommodation from your University
e:Vision account, or from the University accommodation
webpages: www.wlv.ac.uk/accommodation/apply
You can apply either online or manually.
International students
International students will be able to apply and be
allocated a room with a U (unconditional offer).
All students, whether home, EU or international, will
be required to make a prepayment of £300.00 at the
time of accepting their offer of accommodation.
Cancellation rights
You have a right under the Distance Selling Regulations to cancel the Licence
Agreement, where you have entered into the Agreement by means of distance
communication (ie. by post, fax or online). You enter into the Licence Agreement
when the University confirms that your application for a room has been completed
and that a room has been allocated to you. In order to exercise your right to
cancel the Licence Agreement, you must do so in writing within seven working
days from the day after the date the University confirms to you in writing (by
post, email or online) that your application for a room has been completed, and
that a room has been allocated to you. Notice of Cancellation should be sent to
Accommodation Services. The Licence Agreement will then be treated as if it was
never entered into and the University will make arrangements to refund, within
30 days, your full prepayment and any amounts already paid for accommodation
fees.
PLEASE NOTE:
1) You are not eligible to exercise the seven day cancellation right if a member of
the University’s staff confirms to you in person that your application has been
completed and that a room has been allocated to you.
2) You are not eligible to exercise the seven day right of cancellation if you
occupy the room allocated to you before the seven day cancellation period
expires.
3) The University reserves the right to terminate the Licence Agreement on
seven days written notice to you if you have any unpaid University debts
which are unpaid as at 30 June. The University will then make arrangements
to refund, within 30 days, your prepayment and any amounts already paid for
accommodation fees.

Whether you are having any problems within University
accommodation or you want advice on finding
somewhere to live next year, drop by and speak to
our friendly staff, or give us a call. Accommodation
Services’ offices are based at City and Walsall
Campuses and are open from 8.45am-5pm weekdays.
In addition, each Campus has its own reception, open
9am-5pm. Caretaking and Security can be contacted
24 hours a day, seven days a week.

met if I’d stayed at home, I now have lifelong

Moving into university accommodation and
staying here for the second year has been
amazing. It took the weight of looking for another
place. The accommodation and security staff are
really friendly and are always here the help. The
rooms are comfortable and I love how social the
kitchens are now with the new TV’s and sofas! The
Residential Assistants are a close group of friends
who work together to organise fun events like a
BBQ on the first day and bowling. There is always
one of them about to talk to if you don’t want to go
to the office staff or a friend.

Well I find University accommodation a friendly
way of living! A diverse one at that, finding people
from Germany, China and even Norway. I share
a flat with some lovely people, 2 from up north, 2
from down south and a Malaysian girl and we all
get along like a house of fire and we always have a
joke about everybody’s accent especially mine as
I am a brummie and do not speak clearly. I would
say to everyone to move into Uni accommodation
for your first year at least, as you will make great
friends and meet some wonderful people as well
as the fact your just next door to the Uni and don’t
have to wake early.
