plants growing wild there., collected: September 22,

backyard belonging to a family from India, at 1128 28th
St., Ames, Iowa. remarks: Intense red coloring on stems,
petioles, leaf blades and flowers. Late flowering plant.
Stems thin and branched. Leaves lanceolate. Inflorescence
has short branches. Seeds black. Plants were said to
volunteer from a planting the previous year. A second
collection of this accession was done on 10/19/91 for
additional seed. The harvests were combined. Annual.
