CANCELLATIONS Due to athletic and education programming, some programs or activities may have to be rescheduled or cancelled. 1. If a program is cancelled, all registered participants will be notified by email. 2. If inclement weather forces program cancellation, participants may confirm by calling 228-938-2356 on Monday-Friday between 8-5 P.M. 3. If poor weather conditions develop within 90 minutes of activity or event, report to site if in doubt. 4. Once at a program site, decisions concerning the cancellation of activity will be the judgment of the site supervisor, leader, or official. 5. Every attempt will be made to reschedule a cancelled activity and notification will be given to program participants. INSURANCE / LIABILITY The City of Pascagoula does not provide hospital/medical insurance coverage for persons participating in sponsored activities and cannot assume responsibility for injury to any participants in it’s recreation programs. Participants are encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage prior to the start of the program and to consult with a physician before participating in any activity. The City of Pascagoula does have liability coverage. All claims should be made with Human Resources, 228-938-6602. DETAILS YOU SHOULD KNOW...BEFORE YOU ENROLL! Important Information . . . STOP & READ! LOST & FOUND If you have lost or misplaced an item in one of our parks or facilities, please contact the Parks & Recreation office. Articles that are found will be kept for 7 days and then donated to a local charitable organization. The City of Pascagoula is not responsible for lost or stolen items. MAKEUP POLICY Classes missed for individual absences (i.e. illness, vacations, etc.) are not “made-up” nor may participants attend other classes. NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY No person in a City of Pascagoula sponsored service, activity, or program shall be subjected to discrimination, participation in, or be denied the benefits of employment on the basis of political or religious opinion, race, national origin, sex, handicap factor, or other non-merit factor. Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Pascagoula will make every reasonable effort to accommodate persons with disabilities. If you require special accommodation in order to participate, please inform us when you register. NON-RESIDENT POLICY Non-resident program rates are 50% higher for athletic programs and 25% higher for non-athletic events or programs. Only Jackson County residents are permitted to rent City of Pascagoula facilities. ONLINE REGISTRATION Online registration is now required for most programs and offers signup now and pay later. Computers are located at the Pascagoula Recreation Center for those who need them. Football, cheerleading, and basketball registration will be for one week (7days) after the beginning registration date. No late entries accepted. For information about online deadlines for other programs or activities, check the Program Guide or call 228-938-2356 on Monday- Friday between 8-5 P.M. PHOTOGRAPHS For program purposes only, from time to time photographs will be taken of participants. You will be asked to sign a photo release at the time of registration. If you do not wish to have your photo or child’s photo taken, please tell the staff. PROGRAM FEES Program Fees are not pro-rated. Please plan to register on suggested dates. The City of Pascagoula charges a $35 fee for checks that are returned as un-collectable by our bank. REGISTRATION EXCEPTIONS Programs are designed for age groups and instructor/student ratios on a level best benefiting the student. Please do not ask us to exceed class limits, put your child in the different age or skill level, or on a specific team. REFUND POLICY With proper notice, full refunds are given until after the first day of program or camp until uniforms have been ordered. WAITING LIST If you are unable to register for a program due to full enrollment capacity, you may request to be on a waiting list. Waiting lists are kept for the current program season only. There are no guarantees for placement. 3
