Club Sprint Championships
Challenge Stadium
Saturday 30 th October 2010
Session 1 – Warm Up: 8am Start: 9am Finish: 1.30pm
Session 2 – Start: 2pm Finish: 3.30pm-4pm
Warm up Procedures
No dive entries in lap swimming lanes. Diving must be restricted to designated sprint lanes (1
and 8) only.
Swimmers must swim in a clockwise direction. (Always stay to the left).
Sprint warm-ups are to be conducted in lanes 1 and 8 only. Coaches must supervise their own
swimmers. Lanes 2 and 7 may be opened to sprints (TBA).
Swimmers must dive and swim in one direction only in designated sprint lanes.
Turns are not to be practiced in the sprint lanes.
If timing pads are installed swimmers must not hold or climb over them. Swimmers must clear
the water from the side of the pool, not over the blocks.
Other than the 4 lanes used for warm up, the dive pool and eastern dive pool deck area is
a prohibited area for swimmers
The Meet Director may at any time remove a swimmer from the warm up pool if he or she does
not abide by these procedures.
Swimmers must leave the water by the end of the warm up session as published in the meet
program, or when requested. Swimmers who do not exit the pool when requested to do so may
be disqualified from that day’s competition. The request to leave the pool will be announced 15
minutes prior to the advertised start time of meet.
Similar rules are followed at all National meets and are set in place to allow warm ups to be
completed by all swimmers without injury or inconvenience. Please abide by them.
Marshalling
All swimmers will marshal before each event in the designated area. Swimmers are requested to
report to the marshal promptly when the event number is displayed on the marshalling board and
have their names marked off.
Any entrant, who fails to report to the marshalling area at least ten (10) minutes prior to scheduled
time for the start of the session (if entered in the 1 st or 2 nd event) or, at least two (2) events prior to
the event in which she/he is entered, shall be deemed to be a withdrawal.
Withdrawals
This event is being swum as timed finals. Out of consideration for fellow swimmers, spectators and
officials, swimmers are requested to withdraw from events they do not intend to swim so that heats
may be amalgamated. Withdrawals should be made at the withdrawal table located in the
marshalling area. The withdrawal slip provided must be completed by the swimmer or his/her
representative.
Medical Circumstance
There is no allowance for medical consideration. Should a swimmer incur a medical circumstance
that necessitates a withdrawal, then a medical certificate shall be presented to the Meet Director to
authenticate the withdrawal. The Meet Director shall have such authority to determine the relaxation
of the time (i.e. happens less than 30 minutes before the programmed event start) period in which
the withdrawal is initiated.
