Julie
Beaudoin
a’Bravo Bistro
Julie Beaudoin, founder and owner of a’Bravo Bistro
and Wine Bar in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has been
working in the restaurant industry for 30+ years. She
is self-taught and credits much of her success to
watching her grandmother and mom in the kitchen
when she was just a little girl. They would feed the
entire family with their dishes, and Julie knew that
she wanted to continue in their footsteps—but she
knew that she wanted to share her love for food with
not only her family but with her community as well!
Julie grew up with a strong entrepreneurial spark.
She often times opened businesses out of her
parent’s home during her childhood. One of the
most successful businesses was a carnival. She
organized games and sold candy and hotdogs
through the windows of her parents’ home. Julie
worked hard opening and operating her childhood
businesses, and as soon as she could, she submersed
herself into the food industry and learned from
many influential restaurateurs in the area. Julie’s
drive and determination grew as she drew closer
and closer to tackling her dream of opening her
very own restaurant.
This dream grew and manifested and soon
became a reality in 1999 when she and her sister,
Brenda Beaudoin, opened a’Bravo together.
a’Bravo began as a 9 table bistro, on Main Street in
Green Bay, that focused on high-end catering.
Through endless hours, laughter and tears, a’Bravo
grew into the restaurant that it is today. Julie moved
a’Bravo to its current location in Bellevue and began
a partnership with Mary Faye and David Demarco to
expand the 9 table bistro into a 40 table wine bar
and full service restaurant that is open 7 days
a week.
a’Bravo’s food has touched the mouths and hearts
of many. This is due to the immense pride Julie puts
into creating a space that reminds us of a time when
we were taken care of and when hospitality came
first. She encourages her staff to go the extra mile
to ensure that each diner leaves with a smile, a full
tummy, and a full and happy heart.
