The research area <strong>of</strong> syn<strong>the</strong>tic materials is approaching a new era <strong>of</strong> multifunctional materials. Today we<br />
need materials with customizable functions, to be designed on demand, with a direct objective, let’s say<br />
an intelligent design <strong>of</strong> functional materials. These multifunctional nanostructured systems are reaching a<br />
great interest and development for improving different biosensors (human and animal health,<br />
contaminants or toxins detection (environment, food, etc.), better medical imaging systems for early<br />
identification <strong>of</strong> diseases, removal <strong>of</strong> tumors by hyper<strong>the</strong>rmia, improving drug targeting and drug delivery,<br />
increasing cosmetic products absorption, improving food packaging properties, improving <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong><br />
water for environmental applications, etc.<br />
Nanoimmunotech has a vast experience and own protocols for <strong>the</strong> functionalization <strong>of</strong> different<br />
biomolecules in an oriented way on <strong>the</strong> surface <strong>of</strong> different supports, guaranteeing <strong>the</strong> activity and<br />

Main related relevant activities/projects<br />
Nanoimmunotech developed its own nanosystems functionalization / conjugation technology: nitzipper®.<br />
It is a new revolutionary technology that allows to quickly, easily and effectively joining different types <strong>of</strong><br />
micro/nanostructures, biomolecules, dyes, linkers, drugs and many o<strong>the</strong>r molecules, in practically any<br />
combination. Nitzipper® is also a multi-functionalization tool that allows joining more than one type <strong>of</strong><br />
molecule or micro/nanostructure to ano<strong>the</strong>r molecule or micro/nanostructure.<br />
nitzipper® may be used for a wide range <strong>of</strong> applications allowing to innovate within various markets and<br />
sectors (biomedical, pharmaceutics, cosmetics, veterinary, agr<strong>of</strong>ood, environmental, etc.).<br />

The Nanoimmunotech business model is flexible and we have experience in participating in research or<br />
on demand projects, licensing, customer-supplier relationships, etc.<br />
As project example that Nanoimmunotech can add value in, we could mention our participation in <strong>the</strong><br />
project COLIVAC (INNTERCONECTA), for <strong>the</strong> improvement <strong>of</strong>vaccines through <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong><br />
