Join Trinity’s Children and Youth this summer for a seven-week planting series
drawing on the Episcopal Relief and Development’s Abundant Life Garden
Project. In this session, ‘Lining and Filling’ with special guest Cara Chard from
City Growers, we will line the organic herb bed, and fill/prep the new soil with
organic composting in preparation for next Sunday’s planting. At the end of this
session, we are going to mark out the areas of both garden patches and design
the space: one will become a medieval medicinal herb garden, and the second
will become a leafy green and vegetable garden to be used in Sunday School and
Pie Club service projects this year! Information: Lisa Bridge at lbridge@trinitywallstreet.org
Stewardship of Air
That we have children coming into this world already
polluted, at the same time we don’t know what the
effects of that pollution will be on their mental and
physical development, is both bad policy and immorally
wrong.
—Louise Slaughter
Stewardship is the spiritual discipline of generously giving
of all that we have and all that we are. Each month we consider
a different aspect of our response to God’s gifts.
Give Students the Tools to Succeed
August 1-31
“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to
such as these that the kingdom of God belongs” (Luke 18:16). Many
students in Lower Manhattan cannot afford to buy school supplies
which can instantly and endlessly lead to a scholastic disadvantage
and underperformance. For $16, you can purchase one
Totes for Teachers school supply kit that will go directly to a public
school teacher to support students in need in the classroom. The
kit provides pencils, paper, and other materials so that the whole
classroom can have an equal opportunity to succeed. Please lift up
All Our Children in your prayers and give at trinitywallstreet.org/
totes. Information: Ariella at alouie@trinitywallstreet.org.
Conference participants will discover how to tell the age-old
story today, in a world informed by science, empowered by technology,
rich in religious and cultural diversity, and yearning for
meaning, connection, and wholeness. To register, visit trinitywallstreet.org/institute.
Congregational Voice
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those
who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.”
—1 Thessalonians 4:13. Sooner or later we face the loss of those
we love. But a Christian’s sorrow is not the same as those without
Christ; we have hope. When Jesus returns, all believers—living and
dead—will be together forever. How comforting!
—Dr. Beverly Ffolkes-Bryant, Congregational Council Member
with your unique abilities and a desire to build relationships with
others. Contact Heather Lorch or Deborah Lee at community@
trinitywallstreet.org with your ideas, and we’ll work together to see
what can be achieved. It will do you (and Trinity!) a world of good.
