xDrive. 

xDrive, the intelligent all-wheel drive system that thinks 

ahead. Unique technology distributes power flexibly at 

continuously variable levels – in a split second. And if one 

axle has no traction, power is transferred to the other one. 

Whether navigating through mud, rain or leaves, your car 

retains power, grip and performance. 

Dynamic Drive. 

Once tested, you will never want to do without it. The system 

measures the side tilt of your BMW through bends. And 

uses stabilisers to balance it out. The effect is a significant 

increase in sporty flair and comfort. You will experience the 

feeling of taking a bend with the same vehicle stability you 

would have on a straight stretch of road. 

Active Steering. 

Experience direct and directionally stable steering with the 

Active Steering system by BMW. When driving slowly the 

wheel angle increases making parking easier and providing 

greater precision when driving on bends. At higher speeds, 

the steering angle is reduced resulting in better tracking 

and enhanced control in all driving conditions. 

Head-Up Display. 

This technology projects important and helpful driving 

information directly onto the windscreen – right into your 

field of vision. This means you can always concentrate on 

what’s most important: the road. 

BMW Night Vision. 

A thermal imaging camera uses innovative infrared 

technology to show what is ahead of your car on the central 

on-board monitor. The more heat the object gives off, the 

lighter it is displayed by BMW Night Vision. So when driving 

in the dark, with BMW Night Vision you can always be sure 

of one thing: a feeling of safety. 

Adaptive Headlights. 

Adaptive Headlights light up what is in front of the vehicle 

– right into the darkest corner and with greatly improved 

road illumination. And these are headlights which follow 

the road, making bends easy to see and the road in general 

more predictable. You’ll feel safer when driving in the dark. 

And enjoy even greater driving pleasure. 

High Beam Assist. 

While you concentrate entirely on driving, High Beam Assist 

independently changes between high and low beam. Its 

sensors detect light sources and adapt the intensity of the 

headlights accordingly. This makes your life easier. And 

also sheds just the right amount of light on oncoming traffic. 

Without dazzle. 

Active Cruise Control. 

BMW’s Active Cruise Control allows you to choose your 

desired speed, and then through a sophisticated radar 

system maintains a safe following distance between you 

and the car ahead. This provides assurance on long 

distances and in heavy multi-lane traffic. And it gives you 

more time to enjoy driving in your BMW. 

BMW Runflat Tyre Technology. 

BMW Runflat tyres allow you to drive for approximately 

150 kilometres in the event of total pressure loss. You 

don’t need a spare tyre, which reduces weight and fuel 

consumption. They also set standards in driving dynamics 

with improved handling and a significantly shorter brake 

distance, so you can rely on them with and without air. 

The 50:50 axle load concept from BMW. 

BMW cars acquire their sporty qualities from a unique 

driving dynamics concept: the balanced axle load 

distribution of 50:50 and the characteristic BMW drive 

system. This means that all four wheels have the same 

solid grip on the road. Perfect conditions for a precise 

response, agility and exceptional driving pleasure.

BMW six-cylinder engines. 

Meet the lightest in-line six-cylinder engine in 

its class with outstanding acceleration. An engine whose 

casing is made of an extremely light magnesium-aluminium 

composite. With significantly higher output yet lower fuel 

consumption. Making every trip one to remember. 

Satellite Navigation. 

As the pioneers of in-car navigation, BMW’s navigation 

systems work in conjunction with GPS to automatically 

establish your current location and select the ideal route 

for your journey. Voice controls may also be used to 

assist you, ensuring you arrive at your destination with 

precise accuracy.

BMW Benefits. 

BMW Motorplan. 

Included in the selling price of all new BMWs is a standard 5 year/100 000km Motorplan Maintenance Contract. This contract covers all service, maintenance and repairs resulting from 

normal wear and tear, excluding tyres, fuel and top-up oil. As with any maintenance agreement, there are certain exceptions which are clearly specified in the Motorplan agreement. 

Repairs resulting from negligence or an accident are not covered. For all BMW models the contract can be extended up to 7 years or 200 000km, dependant on your individual needs. 

BMW On Call. 

Comprehensive back-up service is provided to BMW customers through the BMW Customer Contact Centre in case of an accident, breakdown, theft or any emergency, 24 hours a day, 

7 days a week. Free roadside assistance, towing services, emergency medical assistance, accommodation and car-hire can be provided (if further than 100kms from residence).

BMW Accident Management provides a managed response to an accidental vehicle immobilisation. The service includes using the BMW Approved Repair Centre network and overall
