San Francisco Rally<br />

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in<br />
San Francisco….. NOT at this red hot <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Dragon</strong><br />
Rally! On June 26th old boys from the Scotts<br />
Valley area in California gathered at the home of<br />
Steve and Lynn Smith. Steve (’83) led the band<br />
in numerous parades and won countless awards<br />
as Headquarters Drum Major during his years at<br />
<strong>Wentworth</strong>.<br />
The rally location was easy to find as the Smith’s<br />
mail box is adorned with a “<strong>Wentworth</strong> <strong>Military</strong><br />
<strong>Academy</strong> Parking” sign. Old boys Bill Labhart<br />
(’64), Jay Jeffries (’65), Steve Smith (’83) and<br />
John Francis (’83) joined family and friends for<br />
the reunion. Both Labhart and Jeffries want to<br />
give a shout out to Guy Harkness, ’63…”You still<br />
owe us money and we’ll collect at Homecoming!”<br />
