3. Hazards identification
The preparation is classified as irritating to eyes and skin, Xi – R 36/38. Upon contact with the
eyes, it causes burning and irritation of the conjunctiva. Contact with the skin can also cause
irritation. Ingestion causes damages to the digestive system, and irritates the mucosa of the
gastro-enteric system with pain, nausea and vomiting. While vomiting, the possible inhalation of
foam into the respiratory tracts may cause irritation with cough and difficulties in breathing;
possible symptoms of asphyxiation due to the obstruction caused by foam.
4. First aid measures
o
o
o
o
Contact with the eyes
Immediately rinse with plenty of running water, keeping the eyelids open, until the burning
sensation subsides.
Contact with the skin
Wash with plenty of water
Ingestion
Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice.
Inhalation
Not dangerous (non-volatile product)
5. Fire-fighting measures
- Not to be used: none in particular
Hazards arising
- From the preparation: unknown
- From the combustion products: combustion fumes
- From the resulting gases: possible release of harmful vapours (SOx – NH3 – nitrous
gases)
Avoid contact with the skin and contact with the eyes by wearing suitable protective clothes.
Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into surface waters.
Cleaning-up methods (see also point 13)
Stem and absorb using sand or earth or other inert materials. Put the material into a container to
subsequently dispose of it in compliance with local rules. Then wash the surfaces with water.
13. Disposal considerations
Disposal of the material: In the event of discharge, do not wash with water, but rather absorb
using abundant inert material (sawdust), and collect the resulting pulp. Use the precautions and
the protective clothes mentioned under point 8. The material thus collected, absorbed in inert
material, shall be considered as special waste and disposed of by an authorised waste removal
service.
Disposal of the containers: The empty containers shall be considered as special waste and
disposed of by an authorised waste removal service.
