BDI welcomes delegation from Universidad Inca
Garcilaso de la Vega
A delegation of 12 administrators and professors from Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la
Vega (UIGV) of Lima, Peru paid a visit to New Jersey City University (NJCU) on August 13
and 14, 2012. The delegation was hosted by members of NJCU’s executive administration,
staff of the BDI, faculty of the Business Administration Department and managers who
work to maximize the benefits of the BDI for students, faculty, alumni, and tenants of the
incubator. The visit enabled the Peruvian delegation to experience first‐hand the BDI in
operation.
Dr. Sue Henderson, NJCU President, hosted the first day morning meeting, present was
Dr. Luis Cervantes Liñán, UIGV President, Dr. Julio Villar Castillo, the executive director of
UIGV’s Business Incubator and Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Trade and International
Relations, and ten other UIGV faculty members.
Dr. Joanne Bruno, NJCU vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Sandra Bloomberg, NJCU
Dean of the College of Professional Studies, shared information with the delegation and
introduced the guests to key staff who provided overviews of such topics as small
business development opportunities, career planning and placement for students, and the
benefits of involving alumni in entrepreneurship.

Chairman BDI Advisory Council and
Chairman NJCU Foundation Inc. Mr.
D’Agosta provided the delegation
with an overview of the BDI and the
role the NJCU Foundation plays to
support the BDI. The delegation’s
visit ended with presentation from
Joseph Tetteh the BDI Director and
five BDI companies as well as a tour
of the BDI.

great, the people here are always
happy and it put me in a joyful mood

are very excited to continue their
learning and interactions with the
BDI companies this fall semester and
intrigued at learning new things they
can use in the future. Both students
agreed that working at the BDI is not
