The Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Batteries (155 Gun SP) operating with<br />
9 th and 83 rd Infantry, and 6 th Armored Divisions were from<br />
the 174 th and 987 th Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Battery (155 Gun SP)<br />
VII Corps. As such they are rated as Confident Trained.<br />
To field the Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Battery (155 Gun SP) with the<br />
Confident Veteran 9th Infantry Division 2 Gun Sections<br />
cost 220 points and 1 Gun Section costs 120 points.<br />
However, the platoon remains Confident Trained.<br />
Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Batteries (155 Gun SP) may not be deployed<br />
in Ambush.<br />
The M12 <strong>155mm</strong> Gun Motor Carriages were rare beasts,<br />
as only 100 <strong>of</strong> the vehicles were ever built. The fact that<br />
they were made available for Operation Cobra shows their<br />
importance to Allied Headquarters.<br />

As well as the 2 nd and 3 rd Armored Divisions three other<br />
divisions were also supported by M12 <strong>155mm</strong> GMC armed<br />
Field <strong>Artillery</strong>. The 6 th Armored Division was backed by<br />
the 174 th Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Battalion, as was the 83 rd Infantry<br />
Division. The 9 th Infantry Division was supported by the<br />
987 th Field <strong>Artillery</strong> Battalion’s M12 <strong>155mm</strong> GMC’s.<br />
