The Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Ljubljana kindly invites you to<br />

attend a 5 days workshop, titled The Unconscious processes, Transference and Therapeutic<br />

Awareness, led by psychotherapist Richard Erskine, President of the International Integrative<br />

Psychotherapy Association. In collaboration with some other psychotherapists, Richard Erskine has<br />

developed the Integrative Psychotherapy, which incorporates Transactional Analysis, contemporary<br />

Psychoanalytic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and other schools of psychotherapy. The aim of integrative<br />

psychotherapy is integration of emotional, cognitive, behaviouristic and physiological systems of the<br />

individual, with an awareness of the social and spiritual aspects. The therapeutic relationship plays<br />

the central role in such psychotherapy process.<br />

In-depth psychotherapy involves making what is unconscious, conscious. Presymbolic experience,<br />

implicit memory and repressed explicit memory all constitute unconscious process that are enacted<br />

through transference. This workshop will explore various aspects of unconscious psychological<br />

functions, different understandings of transference and a variety of therapetic methods.<br />

Methods of work used at the workshop: lectures, experiential work, therapy demonstrations,<br />

supervision.<br />

The workshop is intended for professionals who:<br />

• Deals with psychotherapy professionaly or works as a counsellor<br />

• Is enrolled in psychotherapy training<br />

• Is interested in taking up training from Integrative Psychotherapy or Transactional Analysis<br />

After the workshop, all participants will receive a certificate of participation. The training will be<br />

acknowledged internationally as study hours for students of Integrative Psychotherapy and<br />

Transactional Analysis.<br />

The workshop will be delivered in English.<br />

ABOUT THE LECTURER:<br />

Dr. Richard Erskine, USA. Richard is a clinical psychologist, Director of the Institute for<br />

Integrative Psychotherapy in New York and the President of the International Integrative<br />

Psychotherapy Association. His development of the integrative approach to psychotherapy has been<br />

influenced by various psychotherapy schools, among others Transactional Analysis, Psychoanalysis,<br />

Gestalt Therapy and Body Therapy. He received two prestigious Berne Awards within the<br />

International Transactional Analysis Association:<br />

- with Marilyn Zalcman he received an award for developing the Racket system<br />

- with Rebecca Trautmann he received an award for integration of Transactional Analysis with<br />

other psychotherapeutic approaches.<br />

He is the author and co-author of several articles in international psychotherapy journals, and books<br />

from the field of Integrative Psychotherapy and Transactional Analysis:<br />

- Integrative Psychotherapy in Action (1988)<br />

- Theories and Methods of an Integrative Transactional Analysis (1997)<br />

- Beyond Empathy – A Therapy of Contact-in-Relationship (1999)<br />

- Integrative Psychotherapy: The Art and Science of Relationship (2004).<br />
