In addition, please follow the instructions provided for packing
dangerous substances and items in checked and carry-on luggage.
Products carried in hand luggage must be placed in a transparent, reclosable bag with a
maximum capacity of one litre. Please note that each passenger may only carry one such bag.
Medications and baby food are exempt from this requirement.

Passenger Assistance
At Frankfurt Airport, FraCareServices provides personalised
assistance for disabled passengers and those with limited
mobility free of charge. To take advantage of this service, please
contact your airline or travel agent at least 48 hours prior to
departure. For security reasons, it is not possible for you to book
this service directly.
Parking for disabled persons is available in the parking facility P4
at Terminal 1 and the parking facility P8 at Terminal 2. Simply
follow the signs. If you are arriving or leaving by train, you can
obtain assistance by calling the Mobility Service Office of
Deutsche Bahn at +49 (0) 180 5 512512 (€ 0.14/min).**
On the day of your departure, go to your airline‘s check-in desk
as usual, or to one of the call points to notify the service that you
have arrived. There are call points around the terminals (please
see the map on page 38 for their locations). Please use the call
button to talk to the mobility service.
Tip: Porter and Escort Service for Everyone
You can reserve a personal porter or escort service, which then
takes you to your destination comfortably and via the shortest
route. See page 32 for more information.

Parking Made Easy
Frankfurt Airport offers parking services
for every need
Parking at the Terminals
Whether you are departing from Terminal 1 or 2, you can take
advantage of the parking facilities with capacity for more than
14,000 vehicles, which are conveniently located right at the ter-
minals. They are open 24 hours, and you can use them without mak-
ing reservations in advance or entering into a contractual obligation.
Terminal 1: P2 + P3 / Terminal 2: P8 + P9
Rates: € 4 per hour | € 25 per day | € 115 per week
Business Parking
If you fly out of Terminal 1 often, but not on a regular basis, and are
usually in a hurry, the Business Parking service is just right for you.
A separate entrance, extra-wide parking spaces, and only a short walk
to the check-in halls without having to change levels make sure your
trip gets off to fast, comfortable start. Best of all: You remain flexible,
with no need to book in advance or sign a contract.
Follow the signs for “Business Parking” (P4 at Terminal 1).

Book early – and reap major savings! You can reserve a terminal
parking space between nine months and four weeks before your
trip. Go to www.frankfurt-airport.com and save up to 53 percent.

Holiday Parking
When going away on vacation, you can take advantage of our
attractively priced Holiday Parking Lot, which is conveniently
located right on the airport premises. A free shuttle bus takes
you to your terminal. The rates for one week start at € 49. Brand
new: On www.frankfurt-airport.com you can reserve your parking
space in advance for only € 5!

From Train to Plane and Back Again
The regional and long-distance train stations are optimally linked
to the airport terminals (see map on page 38).
You can walk straight to Terminal 1.
It only takes a few minutes to get to Terminal 2 by shuttle bus
(leaves from the bus station in zone B in front of Terminal 1)
or SkyLine (leaves from Concourse B in Terminal 1).
Regional train station (S-Bahn metropolitan trains,
regional and local services): Terminal 1, access via Level 0
Long-distance train station: opposite Terminal 1
Bus Connections
To nearby towns and cities from Terminal 1
(public bus terminal, bays 14-24) and from Terminal 2
Lufthansa airport buses to Heidelberg, Mannheim, and
Strasbourg: from Terminal 1, Concourse B West
(Arrivals level). Purchase tickets from Lufthansa or the driver.
Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt-Hahn Airport: Terminal 2,
Concourse E. The trip takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Metropolitan Trains (S-Bahn)
You can take the S8 and S9 trains from the airport straight to
Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Kelsterbach, Offenbach, and
Hanau. Change trains at the main railway station in Frankfurt
for other cities.

Deutsche Bahn – Information and Tickets
There are Deutsche Bahn (DB) Travel Centers and Service Points
at the regional train station and the AIRail terminal, open from
6 a.m. to 10 p.m. For long-distance train connections, please
consult our journey planner at www.frankfurt-airport.com, or
the DB Travel Service at +49 (0) 180 5 996633 (€ 0.14/min).*
Within Germany, you can take advantage of reduced price
Rail&Fly tickets for travel to the airport; information is available
from your airline and DB.
Lufthansa AIRail Service
At the central railway stations of Cologne and Stuttgart, you can
check in up to 15 minutes before the train leaves at a Lufthansa
check-in desk and also get your boarding passes for the train
journey and all connecting flights. Lufthansa passengers traveling
with AIRail from Siegburg/Bonn can take advantage of the
convenient online check-in as early as 23 hours before the flight
departure time and print out the required boarding passes at
home. They can then check their luggage at the baggage drop
at the AIRail Terminal at Frankfurt Airport. More information is
available at www.lufthansa.com.
Tip: Check-In at the AIRail Terminal
If you are arriving by train, you can use the convenient luggage
check-in at the AIRail Terminal (on the pedestrian bridge
connecting the long-distance train station and Terminal 1).

Relaxed Check-In
Get your bags safely on their way
Check-In
Please have your flight documents, ID or passport, and visa (if
required) ready. A number of airlines also offer online check-in
services or quick check-in machines. We recommend that you be
at airport about three hours ahead of time. You will find detailed
information at www.frankfurt-airport.com.
Tip: Night-Before Check-In
Take advantage of night-before check-in. Get your tickets and
passports, then return home and enjoy a relaxed breakfast the
next morning before leaving for the airport.
Please consult the table on pages 12–15 to see whether your
airline offers this service.
Luggage Regulations and Checks
Prior to departure, you and both your checked and carry-on
bags are screened for forbidden objects. You can view the list of
objects that are not allowed at www.frankfurt-airport.com.
Your checked-in bags are automatically checked. It may occa-
sionally be necessary to open a bag when you are not present.
Lock them in the usual way, but please do not use any padlocks.
Dangerous Goods
To avoid endangering air traffic, dangerous goods may not be
taken on an aircraft. You can find a detailed list of the items that
are permitted and forbidden in checked and carry-on bags at
www.frankfurt-airport.com under “Check-In & Luggage”.
Automated Border Checks
In Terminal 1, Concourse B, Level 2 (when leaving Germany)
and Level 3 (when entering Germany), you can pass the border
check with a digital iris scan. If you have a valid machine-
readable passport, you can register for this option free of charge
at the Enrollment Center in Terminal 1, Concourse A, Level
2. The irises of your eyes are scanned and digitally saved in a
database together with your passport data.
In Terminal 1, Concourse C, Level 3 (when entering Germany),
passengers who have one of the new e-passports can also take
advantage of the EasyPASS border checks with automatic face
recognition. Use of this service is also free of charge, and no
advance registration is required.
Luggage Carts
Convenient luggage cart dispensers are already available in
Terminal 2, and the service will be extended to Terminal 1
starting in January 2012. They are very simple to use: you
pay a deposit of two euros using coins, bills, or a credit or debit
card. The dispenser then releases a cart, which you can return
to any dispenser to get your deposit back.
Luggage Storage
Get around the airport comfortably by leaving your heavy or bulky
luggage, coat, or important documents at our left luggage facility.

At Frankfurt Airport, we offer our guests many opportunities to
snap up real bargains in Duty Free and Travel Value shops.
Your favourite perfume or a top-of-the-line whiskey: All of the
items you can buy after passing the boarding pass check comply
with security regulations. That way, you can shop to your heart’s
content, without having to worry about security. Any liquid
products purchased are sealed in special bags that may not be
opened until you have arrived at your destination. Customs
regulations still apply. The sales staff will be happy to answer
your questions. You can also plan your shopping in advance; the
prices of over 10,000 different products are listed online at:

After passing the boarding pass check, look for our Terminal
Express shuttles. You can take advantage of them free of charge
to save yourself a long walk.
Tax Refunds
Residents of non-EU countries can get a refund on value-added
tax paid in Germany. To do so, request a tax refund check
when purchasing items. When leaving the country, take your
purchases, receipt, and tax refund slip to one of the customs
desks at Frankfurt Airport to get the slip stamped. After passing
the passport check, go to a Global Blue Customer Services
counter to obtain a cash or credit card refund (minus a fee).
