* Conducted meeting with Peanut Growers and<br />

Prospective Buyer in Sibalom, Antique on April<br />

26, 2013. The Buyer presented his intent to<br />

buy peanuts from the farmers. Target markets<br />

of the Buyer are Cebu and Manila.


Assisted the Provincial Guimaras on the<br />

preparation of their export of Sweet Potato<br />

Chips for USA market. Demand for Sweet Potato<br />

Chips is 10-50 containers per month at 3.3 MT<br />

chips per containers. Presently, 6 hectares are<br />

planted with sweet potato in Nueva Valencia,<br />

Guimaras with an estimated yield of 30 MT to be<br />

harvested this March. To process chips, there is<br />

a need of at least 70 MT of sweet potato to<br />

meet the demand requirement of Ms.<br />

MarilouHontiveros of Nature’s Tropical Delight<br />

(Buyer/Exporter). Buying price of sweet potato<br />

if PhP 12.00/kg. This project is supported by the<br />

DA, RFU 6, LGU Guimaras and the Farmers.

• Facilitated the National Seminar of BAFPS Regional<br />

Focal Persons on Food Defense: Preventing<br />

Intentional Contamination on April 22-23, 2013 at<br />

Malay, Aklan. This was attended by 46 participants<br />

coming from all the RFUs and BAFPS.<br />

• Assisted BAFPS Evaluators of Organic Agri-projects<br />

in Negros Occidental on February 18-19, 2013.<br />

• Facilitated the conduct of Mango Classifiers’<br />

Seminar-Workshop in San Jose, Antique and Nueva<br />

Valencia, Guimaras. A total of 90 participants<br />

attended the 2 batches of seminar. Technology on<br />

Mango Production and Classification Techniques<br />

were taught to the participants.


• Conducted Seminar on Health and Wellness thru<br />

Organic/Natural Products held in San Jose,<br />

Antique on March 5-6, 2013 which was attended<br />

by 60 participants coming from the different<br />

municipalities of the province. Participants were<br />

composed of Teachers, Technicians, Pastors,<br />

etc. This seminar opened the minds of the<br />

participants to practice healthy lifestyle and<br />

realized that healthy foods are readily available in<br />

their gardens.<br />

• Facilitated the Seminar/Field Tour of participants<br />

from Antique to Organic Farms in Negros<br />

Occidental

establishment of Organic Trading Posts:<br />
