Background – ST2 Implementation Plan<br />

• 4 Easements from BNSF<br />

– October 2013 (first) – adds 1 train using existing equipment<br />

– Q4 2016 (second and third) – adds 1 train w/ new equipment<br />

– Q4 2017 (fourth) – adds 1 trip using existing equipment<br />

• New Equipment<br />

– Three new Locomotive (ordered in 2011, delivered in 2013)<br />

– 18 passenger <strong>cars</strong> added in ST2 Plan<br />

• 10 for the 4 easements<br />

• 8 for platform extension – project postponed


Procurement Strategy<br />

• Named party in UTA’s 2008 procurement<br />

• New Mexico Rail Runner, DART Trinity Railway Express,<br />

San Joaquin-Altamont Commuter Express and Caltrain also<br />
