It’s a dance spectacular that will knock your socks off.
The biggest stars of the dance world are coming to Segerstrom Hall
May 21 for a one-night-only performance of classical pas de deux
and contemporary works. The list includes names from leading
international dance companies, including Nikolay Tsiskaridze and
Maria Alexandrova from the Bolshoi Ballet; Diana Vishneva from
the Mariinsky Ballet; Gennady Saveliev of American Ballet Theatre;
Bernice Coppieters and Chris Roelandt of Ballets de Monte Carlo;
Desmond Richardson of Complexions; the company of the Eifman
Ballet of St. Petersburg; and many more. This once-in-a-lifetime
event will showcase the athleticism and lyrical beauty of these
superb artists.
The Tour de Force program features a range of works showcasing
excerpts from classical works, including Manon and Giselle, and
contemporary pieces by Boris Eifman, Mauro Bigonzetti,
Christopher Wheeldon and Dwight Rhoden, as well as the world
premiere of a work created for this occasion by Boris Eifman.
“The Center is renowned for its International Dance Series,” says
Center President Terry Dwyer. “Our dance audiences will be thrilled
by this unforgettable gathering of the best of the dance world, and
we’re happy to welcome these artists to our stage for such a special
performance.”
Many of the dancers have appeared at the Center before, either
with their dance companies or in special solo performances. Nikolay

Tsiskaridze was part of Kings of the Dance in 2007, and also
appeared with the Bolshoi Ballet here in 2002. Diana Vishneva has
appeared here with the Mariinsky Theatre, most recently in 2008,
as well as Diana Vishneva: Beauty in Motion, co-produced by the
Center with Ardani Artists last year, demonstrating why she’s considered
one of the greatest dancers of her generation. Desmond
Richardson also appeared in Beauty in Motion.
This is a one-night-only experience that will shine as nothing
ever seen before in the dance world. For star power and bravura
dancing, don’t miss Tour de Force.
