PERC Turnkey Lines

2013-06-19, Freudenstadt/Munich. With the beginning of the world’s leading exhibition for the solar
industry in Munich SCHMID announced to offer turnkey production lines for the manufacturing of highefficiency
PERC cells with a 20 percent efficiency guarantee.
Dr. Christian Buchner, Vice President of SCHMIDs cell business unit, outlines the advantages: “With our
efficiency guarantee customers get the security to successfully market their cells and stand their ground in
competition. We deliver an incomparably economic PERC-Process and effective production systems. Our
long lasting experience in turnkey line construction gives additional certainty when investing in high
efficiency cell production.”
SCHMID’s APCVD coating system is the core equipment for PERC and has proved to be outstandingly
reliable. Nearly one hundred APCVDs are successfully in industry use since many years for various
applications. With this coating system SCHMID has already reached several PERC efficiency records.
PERC cells are PV cells out of crystalline silicon with a selectively optimized emitter layer and a rear side
passivation.
