The IMC Krems is widely regarded as Austria’s most international university of applied
sciences. The Institution of Higher Education offers nine innovative full-time and parttime
degree programmes, in Business Studies, Health Studies and Life Sciences.
IMC Krems receives FIBAA quality seal
The Bonn-based Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation
(FIBAA), a leading international quality assurance agency, presented its quality seal to
the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.
First-hand expertise
The highly practical, academic degree programmes offered at IMC Krems stand out for
their strong focus on leadership qualities and soft skills. The curriculum also includes an
extensive selection of language options, and project-based work in small groups, where
direct access to teaching staff plays a key role. With students gaining exposure to firsthand
knowledge and experience, the university is certainly not an ‘education production
line’.
A dedicated, international and highly qualified faculty motivates students to perform to
the best of their ability, preparing them for international careers. Studying at IMC Krems
is a once in a lifetime experience, with interactive learning, direct, personal exchange of
experience between staff and students and international partner programmes with other
universities. Co-operations with research facilities and enterprises, as well as the
extensive range of leisure activities on offer in the idyllic surroundings of Austria, round
out the comprehensive offering for students.
Award-winning international environment
With 96 partner universities, many other partner programmes and students from 50
different countries the international environment defines day-to-day life at IMC Krems.
Intercultural exchange, internships abroad, participation in international research
projects and lectures given by internationally experienced full-time faculty and guest
lecturers are all integral parts of this.
Around half of all courses are taught in both English and German, with eight
programmes taught exclusively in English – an especially attractive aspect for foreign
students. IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems was awarded the quality seal for
Innovation, Engagement and Quality by the Sokrates Nationalagentur, for its proven
commitment to an international environment and high student mobility.
Practical experience for a successful career
The philosophy of IMC Krems is that learning, research and business should be closely
interlinked. The university does not see itself as just a Higher Education Institution – it
continually pursues cooperation with the worlds of research and business. This plays a
significant part in preparing students for the job market: 90% of all students are in
permanent employment within three months of graduation.

Transnational programmes
Degree programmes based on the Krems model are offered in Azerbaijan, China,
Bulgarian, Ukraine and Vietnam. When IMC Krems was commissioned to set up a
university in the same mould in Buraimi, in the Sultanate of Oman, it became the
leading Austrian institution responsible for the largest educational export of the Second
Republic.

IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems – studying the international way
Located in the Wachau region in the heart of Lower Austria, IMC Krems is one of
Austria’s most international and innovative universities of applied sciences – with a
global network of 96 partner universities and students from more than 50 countries. The
university offers nine full- and part-time degree programmes in Health Sciences,
Business Studies and Life Sciences. The strong practical element and high academic
standards of IMC Krems bachelor's and master's programmes prepare students to
pursue a career in Austria or abroad. Courses are held in both English and German, and
students also have the opportunity to complete internships and semesters abroad, as
well as participating in international exchange programmes. IMC Krems enjoys a high
level of international recognition, thanks in part to certification from the International
Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE), and membership of
