Philoptochos and T. Ross Kazakis Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Studies
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Norfolk, VA)
In memory of Dr. Triantafyllos Ross Kazakis, who was a lifelong member of the Annunciation
Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Norfolk, VA, and who reposed in the Lord on August 9, 1989, the
Kazakis family -- in conjunction with the Philoptochos Society of the Annunciation --
established an educational endowment fund in 1990 which provides scholarship assistance to
students of any age who are currently attending, or have been accepted into, a graduate studies
program and who are pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree.
The scholarship committee is currently inviting only students who are attending or will be
attending any accredited Eastern Orthodox Seminary, and who hold a grade point average of at
least a 3.0, to submit an application. The scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $2,000.
It will be based primarily on merit, with some consideration given to financial need.

Applicants must complete the below application, including all required information, and submit
it to the Philoptochos “Annunciation” Society, Scholarship Committee, at the above address.
Applications must be received by no later than March 16, 2008. Applicants will be notified of
the committee’s decision by the end of March 2008.

J. Attach a resume setting forth your academic honors, awards, extra-curricular
activities, employment history, and any other information you believe relevant.
K. Attach a personal statement describing the field of study you plan to pursue and
your future goals.
