Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Norfolk, VA)<br />

In memory of Dr. Triantafyllos <strong>Ross</strong> <strong>Kazakis</strong>, who was a lifelong member of the Annunciation<br />

Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Norfolk, VA, <strong>and</strong> who reposed in the Lord on August 9, 1989, the<br />

<strong>Kazakis</strong> family -- in conjunction with the <strong>Philoptochos</strong> Society of the Annunciation --<br />

established an educational endowment fund in 1990 which provides scholarship assistance to<br />

students of any age who are currently attending, or have been accepted into, a graduate studies<br />

program <strong>and</strong> who are pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree.<br />

The scholarship committee is currently inviting only students who are attending or will be<br />

attending any accredited Eastern Orthodox Seminary, <strong>and</strong> who hold a grade point average of at<br />

least a 3.0, to submit an application. The scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $2,000.<br />

It will be based primarily on merit, with some consideration given to financial need.<br />

Applications may be obtained at www.annunciation.va.goarch.org or from the Annunciation<br />

Cathedral at 7220 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23505, (ph) 757-440-0500, (fax) 757-423-6929.<br />

Applicants must complete the below application, including all required in<strong>for</strong>mation, <strong>and</strong> submit<br />

it to the <strong>Philoptochos</strong> “Annunciation” Society, <strong>Scholarship</strong> Committee, at the above address.<br />

Applications must be received by no later than March 16, 2008. Applicants will be notified of<br />

the committee’s decision by the end of March 2008.<br />
