We promise simply incredible experiences from the unique
opportunity of holding a Giant Panda cub in Chengdu,
gaining an insight into the amazing Terracotta Warriors with
the museum’s curator to speeding through the Japanese
tantalising varieties of dim sums and delectable Japanese
Hida beef; discover wasabi variations you would never
dream of and the freshest sushi you will ever taste.
Countries of contrasts
Both China and Japan mesmerise with their ever-present
contradictions of awe-inspiring ancient monuments versus
space-age technology, immense urban developments versus
country towns seemingly frozen in time and familiar cultural
clichés versus prevalent customs completely foreign to our
own. With Scenic Tours you will uncover all aspects of these
fascinating countries as we take you off the beaten track and
introduce you to the real China and Japan.
Extraordinary Icons
Discover the World Heritage-listed marvels that
are part of the cultural stories of China and Japan
The UNESCO World Heritage List is a collection
of cultural sites and natural landscapes of
outstanding universal value. The legacy of some
of Asia’s most unique history will be revealed
with Scenic Tours as you visit the Hiroshima
Peace Park, the only structure to survive the first
atomic bomb, and Beijing’s legendary Forbidden
City, a priceless testimony to Chinese civilisation.
Archaeological extravaganzas
The site where the first unifier of China is
buried, the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor
is surrounded by the iconic Terracotta Warriors;
whilst The West Lake of Hangzhou has inspired
famous poets, scholars and artists since the 9th
century with its pagodas, pavilions and gardens.
The story of Beijing
The story of Beijing’s extraordinary landmarks
steeply pitched thatched roofs shaped like
praying hands whilst the shrines and temples of
Nikko have for centuries been closely associated
with the history of the Tokugawa Shoguns.
China’s Old Town of Lijiang is noted for its
ancient water system that still functions today.
Capital culture
Built in 794, Kyoto was the imperial capital of
Japan until the middle of the 19th century and its
historic monuments illustrate the development
of Japanese wooden architecture and gardens.
Nara was the capital of Japan from 710 to 784
enjoying great prosperity and cultural notoriety.
Its Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and
excavated remains of the great Imperial Palace
no refund will be paid for any problem which may be experienced with the
unsuitable, We will use reasonable endeavours to arrange single
accommodation for You for the remainder of the Tour, subject to availability,
using the pre-paid Single Supplement Rate. You acknowledge that if there is no
availability of single accommodation for the remainder of the Tour, You will be
required to continue to share with Your nominated rooming partner for the
remainder of the Tour.
or other carriers.
When You are travelling there may be luggage restrictions due to limited
luggage space on flights, trains, cruise ships and four wheel drive safari vehicles
which will be outlined in your Tour Documentation. We recommend You
use a soft bag (sports bag or alternative) to pack essential items into during
this portion of the Tour. Suitcases are unable to be taken with You and will be
delivered back to You at the next possible destination and Our Service Provider
will take reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of the remainder of
Your luggage during this portion of the Tour.
4.11 Carriers
The carriers (including airlines, rail and sea carriers used in association with the
